Interestingly the OBR have said that the U.K. growth will be positive after next year…..

But

This is based on the assumption that ther3 will be quite a high increase in immigration.

The National Living Wage will increase from £9.50 an hour for over-23s to £10.42 from April, but because the personal allowance won’t increase the lowest paid will be paying more tax - so they will effectively get less than the 10.1% benefits rise for those on universal credit. That doesn’t seem like an incentive to work in a low paid role?

Did anyone hear anything about the state pension age being increased ? I just heard the tail end of it. I’ve only 6 months to go now before I get mine, surely they can’t change it now 🤞

I heard a quick remark about a review.
They wouldn't dare move it further away than already announced.

Pensioner households to get £300 support payment

Those on disability benefits to get £150

Certain means tested benefits to get £900

Does anyone have a clue what they are doing with our tax?

Other countries have a comparable % - about 37% - but their public services are so much better.

I liked it very much, at last the next generation will have something to aim for. Liked that the uk will be a science superpower, that innovation and technology will lead the way, that infrastructure will be boosted. Will be telling the dgc later, they are all potential science based. It will be good for them to hear positivity rather than doom and gloom

I’ll wait for a breakdown in the newspapers. That usually clarifies things.

I wonder how many times we will hear the words "fiscal stability"? It seems to be the one fed out to those facing the cameras.
