Last three letters contd - 2026
Best news I've heard all week.
Oh apparently the airlines have refused. Patel has had to resort to hiring private jets.
I wonder which airlines will dare carry out this evil act. They will be boycotted for sure.
People are already finding out who is contracted to carry this cargo of human misery.
See????
What I think was ruled was that the Home Secretary has a right to carry out government policy, it was not a judgement on the policy, and it’s legality under international or HR law.
The case has now being taken to the court of appeal on Monday.
It is hoped that the asylum seekers will win on human rights grounds.
What I don’t understand is that the BBC is reporting that “
“Under the policy, some of those entering the UK illegally will be flown to Rwanda to apply for asylum there”
But they don’t want to apply for asylum in Rwanda - they want to apply for asylum in the U.K.
“There will be a full judicial review, where the High Court will hear a challenge to the policy as a whole, before the end of July, it heard.”
I think the policy is inhumane. The stories from the system they are copying in Australia are barbaric, children detained from infancy to adulthood, severe mental health problems cause by stress and trauma, a child suicide rate that takes your breath away. I realise we are politically very far apart, but I am surprised in your taking such delight in this Urm
Well, well.
I understand Sri Lankan nationals were intercepted in Australian waters and taken to Christmas Island before boarding an Australian government charter flight".
You see Boris if you have the desire most anything can be achieved without a lot of fuss and you can nip the whole business in the bud in short time..and this from a newly minted Labor government too - imagine that!!

Once word gets round the migrants will stop paying the traffickers. Shocking trade, highly lucrative.
You who have everything, security, a family in safety, enough to eat, a couple of homes.
I weep for your inhumane rhetoric.

Of course this is good news and I find it astonishing that anyone can think differently.
Already this year we’ve had over 10,000 of these mostly economic migrants pitching up in Kent courtesy of the illegal smugglers, and unless an effective deterrent is found, the numbers will just keep increasing.
At least the Rwanda plan has the potential to stop this illegal trade in its tracks.
Let’s hope it does.
1. 75% of those who apply for asylum, get it.
2. Because of Brexit, we have a shortage of workers (eg baggage handlers?).
3. We are separating men from their families. To put that in Tory terms, those children will need money spent on supporting them.
Last time, when those of Jamaican heritage were repatriated:
4. Some had no family there and had come to UK as babies.
5. 5 were themselves murdered.
6. We were told they were all murderers and rapists. That was not true.
7. This is supposedly a Christian country (eg see Jubilee celebration at St Pail's, God Save The Queen). This is an act of barbarity, not Christianity, nor any other major religion.
8. We have been lied to about what Rwanda is like, and how much this will cost.
These men are human beings, not cattle. Their families have seen terrible things. UK Govt is just adding to that.

I think what is becoming more and more obvious is that the ugliness of UKIP has infiltrated the Tory party. Patel is the daughter of a staunch ukipper.
Similar to Le Pen in France.
The far right is trying to worm its ugly way into British politics, but I am hopeful that the tide is turning and people are beginning to reject it just as our parents did in the 30s.
Just to clarify - I never report any posts. It’s not in my nature.

Why on Earth would you punish the victims of a crime. In any case.
if it is true that the real people Patel wishes to get are the people traffickers, why on earth is she punishing those desperate folk who think that their only choice is to turn to the traffickers?
It really is the most barbaric of policies.
We used to transport criminals to Australia and history tells us what an evil inhumane thing this was.
What is the difference?
These people are not criminals. International law states.
THOSE SEEKING ASYLUM HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOSE THE COUNTRY Of ASYLUM.
Those suggesting that they stay in France are being ridiculous. Those people will have walked through numerous countries to get as far as France, that logic simply doesn’t stand up.
The truth is far nastier imo..
The case is, apparently, being heard in the Appeals Court on Monday.

Refugees are not illegal immigrants.
The way to stop traffickers (and reduce even further the number of illegal immigrants crossing the channel) is to open legal routes with appropriate vetting elsewhere, particularly in refugee camps outwith Europe.
The way to reduce the cost of detaining legal refugees is to allow them to work.
But no, Patel and her ilk just have to blow their dog whistle instead. And, look at that, it works.
Deliberately provocative thread. I shall not engage.
GNHQ tells us not to go troll hunting, and I can understand why. They say we should escalate suspicious posts or threads to them for investigation.
So I have.

I have thought this for quite some time now. From Trump to Boris to refugees, such extreme views that just wind everyone up; I do think however, that's the intention.

France is a safe country so why the urgency to come here? If it deters people from making that extremely dangerous crossing and helps to break up these appalling gangs, then that's a good thing. Which are all these countries who have left the Commonwealth? Barbados has ditched the Queen, but is still a member of the Commonwealth, and I expect that's what Australia will do - eventually. Rwanda has become a member quite recently, along with the Seychelles, allegedly.
We can’t keep accepting all these illegal migrants into the U.K. so some plan needs to be put in place. If not Rwanda where or what do you suggest ?
