Not sure who yet, although l do feel Teresa May didn’t get a chance
What sounds remind you of your childhood home?
Name a famous band you COULDN'T name all the members of?
Just wondering if those who voted Conservative at the last General Election will do so next time? I ask the question in light of all the scandals associated with this Government, together with the lack of action taken to mitigate the effects of the ‘cost of living crisis’ (despite France, Spain and several other European countries giving much more help to their people), abandoning the Triple Lock (despite retaining it being in their manifesto).
Not sure who yet, although l do feel Teresa May didn’t get a chance
What did the Conservatives inherit from Labour? A mess. Then there was the global financial crisis. Or had you forgotten?

I do know about KS’s background, don’t need a potted biography thanks.
As for Johnson’s career, it depends what you call the real world - I imagine journalists would disagree with your opinion there. And frankly the salary isn’t a huge amount for what a PM has to do. Just consider dealing in quick succession with Brexit, the pandemic and now Ukraine. KS would have earned much more as a lawyer.
Your post indicates that you do and speaking as the parent of a Journalist, I can assure you that Johnson isn’t one. He wrote editorials (puff pieces) for a Tory paper because he was famous. There is a bit more to a Journalist than that, but anyone can call themselves one! As for your view that the £180,000 isn’t enough for the PM, he (and most before him who didn’t complain) is already a millionaire and referring to £180,000 a year as “chicken feed” demonstrates his lack of insight in the real world and his total lack of empathy for the poor. We didn’t have food banks in this country until the Tories came back in 2010. Now working families find themselves desperate and using them. Working all week to earn their own poverty. Still, so long as you’re okay eh?
Women not really wanted? Two female PMs so far isn’t bad going is it? At least they don’t seem to have trouble working out what a woman is.
I wont be but that because our MP who's Conservative is useless

She's back.
Can I join you, volver?

I bet there were just as many rule breakers in the Labour Party and other Political parties but the weren't as carefully watched or spied on. They did wrong shouldn't have but I bet there were others with as much responsibility that did the same.
But if they (do you have any proof by the way?) did they weren’t the ones making the rules and fining other people for breaking them.
Never would I vote Tory....Old Boys Club where women really aren't welcome although they try hard to disguise this fact...I live in Scotland so it's snp all the way for me...Love our first minister Nicola Sturgeon..

Never, never , never !!
I'll do what I always have. Read the manifestos look at what my local MP incurrently supporting then chose the one I think is likely to do what they say they will. If I don't like or trust any of them I don't vote. I don't then bother to moan about who ever wins. My late husband never voted in his life from 18 to 67 but he very rarely complained about the Government stating they were all much of a muchness and we had to do what was right for us at the time. He hasn't been wrong.

I am very aware of the posts saying how people don't admit to voting Tory because they get rounded on, so I am being careful about what I say.
It actually makes me sad when I read things like "Claiming people all followed the rules is ridiculous. They are going to pay fines like anyone else." Are we really in such a state that we don't expect the Prime Minister of the country not to break the law, because of some misplaced idea that "everyone was at it"? They stood there on TV every night telling us that if one person broke the rules we'd all suffer for it. They spent millions on a campaign about "Look her in the eyes and tell her you didn't break the rules". And the whole time, they were breaking the rules.
Is this what we've come to accept as normal behaviour from our leaders? The only "real people" they seem like are the selfish, self centred ones who don't care if you live or die. It makes me so sad that people will accept, even support such behaviour.
This has to be the winning post! Well said Volver ?
@vetrep tell us the good news stories!

I agree about Labour. Won’t forget Kier Starmer banging on about his father being a tool maker in a factory but omitting to mention that he owned said factory.
He was a tool maker, who eventually developed his own business. His mother was a nurse. The family had a ‘normal’ income. Starmer was not privately educated, but he obtain a fabulous university education due to his own exceptional ability and got to the top of his profession as a Human Rights Lawyer (in which his did lots of pro bono work with those struggling financially). Then he went on to be the Head of the Crown Prosecution Service. He understands real life. It is crazy that people get a bee in their bonnet about him being privileged, yet embrace a self entitled millionaire, a proven compulsive liar, who complained his £180,000 salary in Parliament was “chicken feed” and has never done a days work in the real word in his life. No wonder this country is in the mess it’s in!
Never have, never will. Those who do know for sure they are voting for people who cannot be trusted - willing to lie to Parliament and to the British public. How the hell do you put power in the hands of prolific liars?
YES - couldn't vote for party that doesn't know what a woman is.
Good post Cambia, there are many like you, people who can see the difference between a Tory government and a Johnson government. He has not only done dreadful damage to the country, but also to the Conservative party.
I have always voted on the basis that people died to give me the right to do so and it seemed an insult to their sacrifice not to.
For the first time in my life I will probably not bother. I have no faith in ANY of them!
YES
Well said vetrep. No other party capable to deal with the problems .Boris has had.absolutely will vote for them.there is no alternative capable of running our country
If you want a corrupt elitist dictatorship (because that’s what we will end up with if the Tories get in again) and want nothing to change, vote Conservative. Actually, scratch that. If you want life to get worse. For most of us.
yes. i've absolutely no faith in any other party.
despite partygate i believe that boris has done a good job of handling both brexit and the pandemic plus the war in ukraine. i don't believe any other party (especially labour) could do better.
YES.
