I think you'll find that this particular Nanny was constantly at odds with HM over Charles diet to the despair of the royal kitchen. When Nanny over rode a particular request, HM had finally had enough and, unsurprisingly sacked her. Diana also sacked William and Harrys Nanny, Barbara Barnes, apparently because the children allegedly were fonder of Nanny, than they were of their mother! Eldest children often do have a tougher time in upper class, even middle class homes particularly years ago, as Winston Churchill knew only too well. Younger children tended to fare much better. I really don't think P.C is damaged, after all the Queen mother made no secret of the fact that he was her favorite grandchild so plenty of affection there.
