If MPs truly believed the process is unfair, they had every right to discuss it and change it by following the correct procedures. By introducing the amendment at this time, it is directly linked to Paterson. Rees-Mogg's filibustering was a disgrace and I think anybody who can support it shows the morals of a toad.
Paterson should have served his suspension and then the process should have been reviewed, but not so it was deliberately timed to let him off. He broke the rules - there's no question about it.
