I think the truth is that those of us who voted to remain are not getting more accepting over time, we are getting more and more furious at the utter imbecility of it all.

Nowhere you look has Brexit as a benefit. It is a disaster.

We are always being told that whatever the problems are we will cope. If we hadn't left we wouldn't be having to cope! We could devote all our resources to getting over Covid and improving life for all of us, not continually firefighting problems we were told wouldn't happen.

If, as they often claim, they knew EXACTLY what they were voting for, they are guilty of willfully damaging this country, and the future prospects of our children and grandchildren. An apology would be a start.

I know someone very well who works for the European Commission. The claim that people knew what they were voting for drives him crazy - to quote him "I've worked here for 30 years and even I did not appreciate the true extent of the consequences. How can people whose only information was lies from politicians even begin to know?"

I can’t imagine why cosmetic firms want to resume testing on animals and I hope consumers campaign against those that do. One of the benefits of Brexit - get rid of all all those pesky regulations! And who doesn’t want to pay phone charges - much better than getting them for free! And all those British companies loosing business! Got to be good!

Please also spare a thought for the musicians who, instead of just being able to cross borders have to buy visas ,which are expensive, for the different counties they visit for work. I believe the Government have done little to help. We should remember that the potential audience for their music is much greater in Europe. This will make such a difference to all of them, but in particular those young musicians building a career who will now find it so difficult to be last minute stand ins.

There was someone on the radio the other day also talking about cabotage and the fact that, at least for the moment, an orchestra touring the EU can be forced to send equipment back to the UK and out again instead of moving it directly from one country to another.

The whole fiasco is just insane.

Thatcher was proud to have helped to achieve the U.K. being the gateway to Europe.

Companies particularly from Japan invested in the U.K. and imported goods which were then free to go anywhere in Europe.

Now no point at all as it can’t go anywhere.

Just read everything posted on this thread and its depressing that there are still people who voted leave and have their heads buried deep in the sand and can't see what a disaster they have caused by voting leave.

Clearly I should never have left Essex all those years ago. It is proving to be a little oasis of perfection and plenty amid the post Brexit chaos of food shortages, labour shortages and businesses going to the wall* because of new red tape and barriers to trade between the EU & the UK.

(*Oops, apart from that man from Mersea who ran the hitherto booming oyster fishery.)
