Good choice of names! tcrsmile ?

I well here we go again. Projecting what we think someone feels when we have no idea at all. Maybe the Queen is happy as can be that her grandson and his wife chose a lovely, family name for their daughter. No doubt with her blessing.

Good luck to them all, I think its lovely.

I think Lili is pretty. The more I hear the name the more I like it. Archie and Lili go well.

Chewbacca Sun 06-Jun-21 17:51:58

When I was little I couldn't pronounce my Christian name at all and so my Dad gave me an easily pronouncable nick name. It stuck with me and during my teenage years was the source of much embarrassment. My Dad continued to refer to me by that name until his death and that's when I realised how much I'd grown to love it and now would never hear it again. My DC had one of the GC christened that nick name in my honour, and I love it. I hope HMQ feels the same way about Lilibet.

How do you know the Queen isn’t pleased with the little ones name ?

I think Lillibet is a little insensitive. It is the family name or pet name for the Queen who could not pronounce Elizabeth then she was a child, Only a few could call her by that name and that included Prince Philli[

So not a wise choice - Too personal

I agree

Casdon Sun 06-Jun-21 17:47:02

I hope they asked the Queen before using her pet name, which I’ve never heard used by anybody else. Other than that I quite like Lili as a name.

mokryna Sun 06-Jun-21 17:46:55

Lovely name for a girl, I hope she will live a long happy healthy life.

Chewbacca Sun 06-Jun-21 17:46:01

Beautiful names that clearly have family resonance; I wish the family well.

What on earth do you mean FannyCornforth? What's totally wrong though? confused

It’s a lovely name, but somehow I thought only the Queen could be called Lilibet. It's her nickname, a childhood pronunciation of Elizabeth..

True, and I wonder what the Queen thinks about them pinching her pet name. I doubt they are in her good books at the moment.

No! Really! I thought that it was a joke!
I'm really not being nasty, but blimey
It's all shades of wrong. I can't believe it

Why though Fanny ?

It's a very pretty name. And I assume they'll have asked HM if she was happy with them using it.

I think it's rather odd as well. And I don't think I'm a bitch for thinking that way either.
However I love the name. Very pretty and it's going to be shortened to Lili by the sound of things. A new baby is always good news. So congratulations and all that.

Don’t worry there will be a put-the- boot-in pile-on bitchfest along soon.

Im not a bitch.
I think that it's totally wrong though.
I'm going to hide this thread, and probably take a break.
See you laters, alligators smile

No idea what your post means fanny

Callistemon Sun 06-Jun-21 17:37:13

I'm sure they must have passed it by her first.

Polarbear2 Sun 06-Jun-21 17:37:03

Like it a lot. Fresh, young and not stuffy. ? from me.

Ahh that’s so lovely and they ve honoured both the queen and his mum Well done them
I was watching a documentary on Diane on Tv the other night and the things she was saying about the firm or the establishment were so similar to what Meghan has said
Good luck to this young couple and get on with your lives and don’t listen to all the mean people who as closed as books to anything different

Mattsmum2 Sun 06-Jun-21 17:34:12

Glad for the safe delivery, special and pretty name. Lilibet Diana. Whatever you think of the Sussex's it’s wonderful news ???

Ellianne Sun 06-Jun-21 17:32:07

Lovely. I think they have already shortened the name to Lili in their announcement which is soft and pretty.
I hope Harry can now find peace and happiness with his little Diana.

Callistemon Sun 06-Jun-21 17:31:19

I like Lilibet.
Of course, one name was sure to be Diana too.

They go nicely together and I'm sure Lilibet will now take off as a popular girls' name.

Congratulations on the new arrival.
