It made me feel ashamed to have voted to Remain, Greta, to be associated with those on here who kept making such remarks over the last few years.

As a result of leaving the European Union the UK no longer has direct access to COPIS, an EU-wide intelligence database used by customs services and companies affected by fakes to alert the authorities to intercepted shipments and routes being used by counterfeiters. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), which is in charge of enforcing border controls for goods, insists that an equivalent UK system – known as PIPR – has been in place to continue intelligence sharing from the moment Britain left the EU.

But one senior industry figure and law enforcement expert claimed that the new system is not as comprehensive as COPIS and as a result Britain has been left more vulnerable to the counterfeiters, who more often than not are interlinked with organised crime groups involved in other activities including human trafficking and drug smuggling.

The expert said: “Brexit has had a tangible negative effect. It may be that some access and co-operation is continuing but that is no replacement for reliable, real-time access to information. As a result there is a real risk that larger amounts of counterfeit goods are getting into the UK in the wake of leaving the EU.”

I honestly just saw it as someone saying they were happy with the result that they wanted. Maybe there’s a history of “digs” that I’m not party to.

Don't put the onus on us not to be "sensitive". Its getting old now.

Put the onus on the "winners" to have some common decency.

It was a wonderful feeling, wasn’t it? So much more so because, let’s be honest, we didn’t think it would happen. But it did ?
