What if the OP were dyslexic? I thought it was rude, even insensitive, to correct people because they might have underlying difficulties.

Come on folks, lets talk about Ms Patel, Mr Johnson, failures in leadership and bullying Home Secretaries, who didn't bully intentionally.

A man can be forceful and have strong managerial skills.

A woman with a similar skill set is deemed as bossy and bullying.

I have always thought that getting a person’s name right was a simple courtesy.

It's still rude to pull people up on it. Two wrongs don't make a right...

We do have her former Home Office chief civil servant taking her to an industrial tribunal for, I believe, constructive dismissal, soon. It will be interesting to see what comes out of that (and it is to be hoped that he goes through with it and doesn't settle out of court)

Not quite clear about the allusion to the Sorcerer's apprentice; I somehow doubt that the Sorcerer would have given his apprentice a glowing character reference.

Johnson seems to have sat on this report. Priti Patel is one of his appointments, she fits in well, being not very bright and rather unpleasant.

As for Ms Patel, Johnson has accepted the Barnard Castle defence from her (i.e a lame excuse) that the bullying was 'unintentional'.

Loads of sycophantic Conservatives have defended her, including Liam Fox. Both he and Patel were sacked for their dodgy dealings.

I have met people like her in my working life. The worse thing is that tend to pick on some and not others and it creates the most dreadful atmosphere in an office.

They are cruel and divisive.

The BBC brought on Ian Duncan-Smith as her character reference; hardly impartial as she was the Sorcerer's Apprentice to him. Why on earth should any of us expect a member of this government to be disciplined, let alone do the decent thing and resign? They are led by a moral vacuum.

Some MPs who aren’t in a ‘circle’ have said that she says what she thinks and has her own robust opinions, maybe the civil servants aren’t used to it?
