Apparently 30% of container space is being taken by government PPE
11,000 containers, according to the Guardian. That's mind boggling

There are rumours that the U.K. in wavering in its negotiations.
At long last reality is setting in.
A couple of reasons.
It is likely that Trump, who has supported Brexit and promised a “great deal” ?has been defeated. Johnson has lost his only foreign supporter.
Looking at the economic forecast it is grim. Our figures are the worst in the western world at the moment and will take another huge hit if Johnson commits hari kari and goes for No deal.

Have you read about the shambles in Felixstowe?
Apparently 30% of container space is being taken by government PPE and the Christmas imports have had to be diverted to Rotterdam. Presumably this won’t be an option from January.
I dread to think what’s going to happen to our vaccine order.

There was an enquiry into wether the Labour Party behaved correctly, the verdict was that it did not.
Corbyn could have accepted that and moved on, no action was proposed against him, he didn’t he insisted he had no fault. What other option did the Labour Party have but to suspend him him when he insisted the enquiry was wrong or biased in some way.
Thread's being deflected, David!
Not your fault, but we have already had a huge thread on this topic...

Am sure that will happen Sara ( party rules and justice being carried out) these things take time though I expect.
We were told at the time that Corbyn was suspended from the party and the whip removed that the hearing would be held within a week. Now we are being told that the hearing will not be held until the National Executive elections are completed. Following that a group from that new executive will be "selected" to judge the hearing.
Some justice.
Talk of Johnson folding over the brexit talks. Well that will be another bit of good news.

I have zero interest in whether Corbyn is or isn’t reinstated into the LP, that will be decided.
He is ‘toast’ as far as ever becoming PM....and that’s all that matters in my view.
Many are interested in seeing party rules and justice being carried out regarding the Corbyn suspension. If a political party cannot bring about the above while not in power they should never be allowed to govern any nation. That way lays tyranny
Worse than doom and gloom predicted - is doom and gloom turning to reality in front of your eyes.
Very sad for all those who are paying a very heavy price, through no fault or choice of their own- or through the lies and fraudulent deception they became the victims of.
Some of them will be your children, and grand children, friends and family.

Gill57 I think millions are happy that Corbyn is toast.
I believe that if you are aware of the developments in the Labour party over the last couple of days that the Corbyn issue is far from "toast" as far as the pressure of the Starmer leadership is concerned. The matter of his continued suspension without being given the opportunity to state his case before a fair and independent hearing body is growing the rifts in the party and tearing it apart.
Brexit could bring the end of Johnson, but the Corbyn issue may well also see the end of Starmer. Many Labour MPs who were never really Corbyn enthusiasts have now become very upset with the situation. Ether Starmer and his lapdog General Secretary have a case to put forward against the former leader or they have not.
If so get on with it.
Unfortunately ( it was tedious) I have read the whole thread thanks Maizie.
So very sad that the loss of people's livelihoods is 'doom and gloom'. The selfishness of that approach utterly appals me.
And I bet you still haven't read the thread, have you, lemon?
Don't want to face reality?
The vote leave crowd are certainly on the back foot.
I wouldn’t be too complacent about brexit either if I was an ardent leaver.
Post January, if things go as pear shaped as many are predicting, the government is going to have real difficulties on its hands with the dissatisfied voter.
There will undoubtedly be calls to read-think Brexit, and this time the lies won’t be believed.
Sorry Gill but the doom and gloom just has to be said.?
Yes, as am I lemon but that has nothing to do with the approaching disaster that is Brexit with no deal. I have said it before and will say it again for the avoidance of doubt; I did not vote for Corbyn or the Labour party, chiefly due to his wishy washy approach to stating one way or the other his views on Brexit.
I wonder when the posters on this thread are going to accept the inevitable, stop mourning Nanny EU and get on with life.
It must be pleasurable for them to continue in the doom and gloom state that has enveloped their comments, otherwise they wouldn’t still be doing so ......years on.
I do wish the 'doom and gloomers' would pipe down, oh for goodness sake, save us the Pollyanna memes. Yes covid is serious, of course it is, and yes, no government expected it, but Brexit was planned, Brexit is expected and we still are on a knife edge, it is very difficult to just keep on whistling and hope that the government know what they are doing.

No whitewave....however much you like to drop those little asides about Trump into just about any situation, this has nothing at all to do with Trump, the US or Trump supporters.
It has everything to do with Trump because the very people instrumental in Trumps victory were behind the leave campaign. Cambridge analytica, Bannon etc.
It wouldn’t matter if every single person who voted leave regretted it, we’ve left already. I personally know about 50 people who voted leave, only 1 regrets it. I know about 20 people who voted remain, they accept the result and just want to get on with life. Although tbh, In the last couple of years, no one I know has even mentioned brexit
It’s only people on social media who keep going on about it. Mumsnet and gransnet in particular - and it’s 99% remainers who keep talking about it.
I know leaving the EU is a massive deal to some remainers, and they’ll never come to terms with it, but what good does it do going over the same stuff again & again?
Calling leave voters stupid doesn’t mean we’ll suddenly rejoin the EU.
Read it lemon, it is obvious that you haven't for you wouldn't come out with the nonsense about how people managed 40 years ago. How do you know? Just what is there to be pleased about? I note you got in the little dig about Corbyn, very predictable, and rather pitiful if that is the best thing you think has happened politically this year, doesn't say much the Brexit supporting Tory party's achievements.
I wonder if those which still support the leave vote have thought of the truck drivers very much involved in all this. Those people will be stuck on those old airfields for days on end with only a portaloo for company used by a couple of dozen other drivers should no deal or customs agreement come about? They often will be the same drivers who kept food on the shelves our supermarkets when panic buying broke out at the start of the first lockdown.
Hero to zero people in the space of six months.
The Vote Leave government has no big boy pants - omly the emperor's clothes.
The title (All eyes now turn to Brexit) surprised me.
We are still in the middle of a deadly world pandemic. The changes (many quite irreversible) that Coronavirus has forced onto the job market, the damage to the economy, the uncertainty for the future - all far outweigh any worries over Brexit.
Deals are always made when they benefit both parties, trade continues and life goes on. I do wish the 'doom and gloomers' would pipe down!
