A left wing political party is not necessarily Trotskyist/ Marxist! That is scaremongering by the right of centres faux socialists who should either go LibDem or Tory!
Just properly socialist and internationalist.

Jeremy Corbyn suspended from Labour Party
(1001 Posts)According to the Guardian on line 1.08pm
A spokesman for the Labour Party said today "In light of comments made today and his failure to retract them subse, the Labour Party has suspended Jeremy. Robyn pending investigation.
He has also had the whip removed from the Parliamentary Labour Party.
This is after the release of the antisemitism report.

If there was no Anti-semitism then the commission would not have been able to find cases of Anti-Semitism. But they did. Some quite horrific examples and evidence of a longstanding embedded culture.
Unless of course the Jewish members were fabricating their experiences. Guilty of plotting.
Now where in history have I heard that before?
Good post
The left of centre belong to the Labour Party, the far left to the
communist party, they supported Corbyn .
I have many Jewish friends who don't want to make an issue about this . Most say it just highlights any problems and is not good for them . They just want to live peaceful lives without being singled out which is what this is doing.
Yes, focused trying to make yourself insignificant and invisible is a well recognised response to fear and bullying.
focussed It is sad that people of any 'group' think they are better/safer keeping quiet. A bad reflection of our society. There is a big problem with homogenising ethnic and minority groups and assuming all black/Jewish/Muslim etc etc are of one mind about issues pertaining to them. The media are guilty of doing this big time and often present one view point made by a person as THE viewpoint of all that community.
You are absolutely, correct PECS but it makes for a simpler narrative.
I am not a communist Anniebach that is an untrue assertion.

No one as far as I can see has said there was no anti-Semitism. It has been said that there were failures before and under Corbyn, that some of those failures were orchestrated by office staff, that procedures and training were not adequate, but there had been changes.
But Labour has been found to be one of the least anti semitic parties in a YouGov survey
"I will strongly contest the political intervention to suspend me.
I’ve made absolutely clear those who deny there has been an antisemitism problem in the Labour Party are wrong.
I will continue to support a zero tolerance policy towards all forms of racism."
JC on Twitter repeating what he has always said but not what has always been reported.
Annie has consistently accused me of being communist. (I'm not) I am very left wing. I've reached the conclusion that it must be to do with distance, because my views are so far to the left of her.
Same here Trisher I do have a dyed in the wool communist friend..we disagree a lot!

I think the thing now is to wait to see what what the legal unit of the LP decides, presumably after to listening to Corbyn’s appeal and the reasons for his suspension.
Does anyone know if the procedure is held in public or behind closed doors?
I’m sure annie knows the difference between social democracy and communism.
Sometimes goading people by labelling them does not help the argument
Perhaps I misunderstood PECS when she said the whole sorry saga was a deliberate orchestration.
I took that to include the instances that were detailed in the report and others not recorded there.
I could have accepted that attempts to deal with Antisemitism were subverted for whatever reason. But as Ive already said, it’s Corbyns statement that the incidences have been exaggerated that I find wrong.
Perhaps that refusal to acknowledge members experiences was a large part of the failure?
Yes, we did. He is not a communist. I am a socialist.
Insulting people by mislabelling backfires Annie. It makes you look as if you are unable to comprehend the difference.
I could label you a fascist. I don't, because right-wing doesn't equal fascist any more than left-wing equals communist.
But there is no doubrt that the press did overestimate the level of anti-semitism. And there is real discussion amongst the Jewish community about the problem. Watch the video I posted before to hear one liberal Jewish person's opinion about why the allegations of anti-semitism in left wing parties is so damaging to democracy.
Corbyn was not criticising the report- just the events surrounding the controversy he said One antisemite is one too many, but the scale of the problem was also dramatically overstated for political reasons by our opponents inside and outside the party, as well as by much of the media. That combination hurt Jewish people and must never be repeated.
Couldn't agree more Trisher. There is so much 'This us what he said.' going on and not much attention to his actual words.
Illte I have not ever thought there would not have been racists in the LP..it is a big organisation and will attract a wide range of people. My point was that I feel that those people who wanted to discredit Corbyn used the anti-Semitism incidents as if they were only there when JC became leader. He did initiate new systems to deal with accusations and I believe it was perfectly possible for his enemies to scupper those so it appeared that he was being tardy. I am not naturally a conspiracy theorist but the accusation of anti Semitism goes so against the recorded history & facts of what JC has actually done in fighting racism of all types.
Exactly PECS. There are criticisms that I could understand about him. Weak possibly. Inflexible. Too left wing. Indecisive. But bigoted? Never.
I don’t think he himself was racist. I do think that he was weak, that he allowed things to continue rather than confront them and now, that he continues to deny his failings as a leader.
When you accept a position as leader you accept ultimate responsibility for everything.
Corbyn was not suspended because he is considered to be a racist or anti-Semite.
PECS and others who are angry on JC’s account......he wouldn’t have been suspended if he had backed up what Starmer had said, even in a very low key way.He was suspended for the words ( weasel words) he came out with.
I think Corbyn is bigoted, but not racially. I think he's bigoted about anybody he considers to be right wing. I think he's definitely inflexible and, therefore, doesn't have a grasp (or probably doesn't want to have a grasp) of what it takes to succeed in politics.
Angela Rayner has said Jeremy Corbyn has an “absolute blindspot and a denial” when it comes to issues raised in the Equality and Human Rights Commission report into antisemitism within the Labour Party. I think she could be right.
The way I see it (my opinion) is that anti-semiticism did become weaponised against him and some people (media and general public) exaggerated it, but that was because he didn't nip it in the bud, which an astute manager, especially a politician, should have done.
Who said we're angry? I'm certainly not angry.
But I don't withdraw my support for someone just because they've lost power or are unpopular. It's called loyalty.
