Thanks for replying trisher, by the way my way of spelling 'bigoted' is correct, if you care to check the dictionary. Just thought I would mention it as you and others seem to think those who voted leave are less intelligent.
However, regarding the Northern Ireland problem, I have to confess that I havent a clue how it can be resolved. I am sure though that if all the politicians and judiciary who are currently working for the 'remain' side, worked as hard on this issue as keeping the UK in the EU, something credible could be sorted!
Regarding your comments - 'in the event of a no deal Brexit, Rickard argued that many industries would suffer but agriculture would feel the most serious economic shock...' My family live in a farming area, and they say how some of the EU subsidies are being 'milked' - to pardon the pun. Fences are being built which are not needed, along with other unnecessary work.
You don't seem interested in how EU policies have decimated fishing areas in the UK and Scotland, you only use so called facts to suit your own purpose -- to remain! There are plans in place for the UK government to offer subsidies to farmers on leaving the EU.
growstuff - 'Genuinely interested in your reasons for thinking the pound will recover against the Euro and the dollar.' As you know, the contentious issue of Brexit is currently depressing the value of our currency. When - if ever! - the issue is resolved, I am confident that the pound will regain its true value, unlike the euro, which with several member states on the brink of bankruptcy, will always suffer crises.
Also your lower immigration figures for 1918 were - as you must know - due to the UK's decision to leave the EU. I agree about immigration from other parts of the world. They will probably not alter.
jura2 Your comments about the abusive comments posted to certain people is despicable. But please do not 'tar us all with the same brush'. Most leavers are reasonable, ordinary people who may feel bitterly disappointed by all the shenanigans of politicians, protestors, and others, yet would never stoop so low as to hurl such vitriolic abuse at someone.
april rose - your post is excellent, and shows that Europe isn't the 'land of milk and honey' we are led to believe. Employing EU workers has depressed wages, and I think that when welfare benefits are considered, we are lucky to break even. My son works in a factory which employs several European workers. If they work a certain number of hours they can claim certain benefits. Most of the female workers take advantage - working part time and claiming benefits, making as much as he does working full time. What advantage to the UK is that?
