Boris the nutter

Some people are just "fidgety" by nature.

I know someone like this and they could not keep their limbs still if their life depended on it.

I am not a Boris Johnson fan, but, people are really looking for anything to castigate him for-with.

The clip from RTE, at the bottom of the page, is not doctored and that’s what I based my comment on.

But I still can't see anything wrong with it. He's still Boris. He's not going to change to another persona just because he has taken on a heavy role. Could any of us suddenly change their normal mannerisms just "like that"? I don't think so.

He's definitely bitten off more than he can chew and is hiding the fact with his inane waffling. I'm sure that the men in white coats will be on stand-by.

gonegirl do you realy find that a normal way for a PM to behave in a press conference?!

If people can't see anything wrong with a PM doing some sort of stretches whilst his opposite number makes a speech I wonder about what is going on? There is such a lot on GN about good manners and one of the standard requirements of that is that you stand still and at least look as if you are listening to someone's speech. Especially when you need that person to reach agreement with you about an important issue. It shows a profound lack of respect, but I suppose it's what we can expect of Boris.

This is the picture I took off the internet of the actual event which I found totally embarrassing. I've never seen a politician behave in that way when someone else is speaking. He behaved like a little schoolboy finding himself terribly bored at an event he'd been forced to go to...

Does anyone remember any other PM fidgeting like that? Can you imagine the Queen fidgeting whilst opening Parliament? I was told not to fidget when a child and assume he must have been told the same.

I actually feel some concern and empathy for BJ. He seems way out of his depth and unwell in my opinion.

Personalities are one thing, this is quite another. He wasn't flicking his hair back, he was behaving very oddly, and appearing to be paying no attention to his host's speech.

Last night, a friend of mine sent me the link from the Irish Times posted above, and I was quite shocked. The UK is fast becoming a laughing stock, and this is not going to help.

If Johnson has mental health issues, he really needs to get treatment, and lets someone else take over the role of representing us on the world stage.
