BBC licence fee update

I'm OK with that - just a bit miffed that these changes always seem to happen just as we are due to receive the benefit

I want to know how I can opt out as I never watch BBC. In fact I watch very little TV at all except on Yesterday, Channel 4 and Dave. I'm away from home a lot so it's not worth it for me, but I need a TV for family come -approximately 3 months per annum.

No, the fee includes radio and all mainstream tv channels.

I too hope that free bus passes remain but if not, I'm happy to pay as long as people on reduced incomes are able to travel freely.

The tv licence finds the BBC but you have to buy one even if you never watch any BBC channel. I'm fuming because when you consider the fees that are paid to sports pundits and the multiple reporters on news programmes a huge amount. could be saved by cutting the numbers. Cut the numbers and cut their fees/ salaries first .

I think the licence fee is for a having a receiver not watching BBC.

Just as I m getting to 75 !!! I don’t receive any benefits but I only have a pension coming in but I saved for my old age when I was at work which I daren't dig into as I ve no idea what I ll need in a few years time
I do think it’s fair that people with a decent income pay for the licence but it doesn’t take into consideration the in-betweens

I have enjoyed one free year.

I'm happy to pay towards BBC TV and radio programmes. It's worth it to me. As long as those on pension credits still have one free it's OK by me.
I love and use my bus pass though!

If bus passes go, it'll be a taxi into the village as it's not much more by taxi than it is 4 stops away.

The whole idea of a TV Licence is outdated - it should be completely scrapped and the BBC funded from general taxation.

Surely 99% of the population benefit from the BBC in some way.

I might buy a skateboard if the free bus pass gets removed
