I too wish her well and I hope her future life is long and happy.
Like us mothers, she did her best and what she thought was right.

I am totally with Gonegirl.
The woman did her best after taking over from a sulky schoolboy who took his ball & left the game.
She was on a hiding to nothing & I admire her for her efforts.
I doubt the next PM will get a better reaction if he/she sticks to the deal on the table.
Thankyou Mrs May & I hope the next few months are a lot happier for you than the last few! A lot of MPs should be ashamed of themselves.

I agree with eazybee on this.
She certainly did her best but should have resigned far sooner.
I also think she will regret not getting through the speech without emotion, ( especially as she almost managed it) but she is as human as the rest of us after all.

She walked into it with her eyes open. Listened to terrible advice and got rid of all the people who knew what they were talking about. She ignored or insulted half of the population, she left a toxic legacy from her time at the Home Office, subverted parliamentary documentary....

I feel a tiny, tiny twinge of sympathy for her humiliation...

She did her best but it wasn't good enough. She talked a good talk in the beginning but never delivered on her "promises".
I think this quote sums her up:

It was a poison chalice to start with and when I look at the rabble of other politicians of all parties I fail to see a leader amongst them .

Perhaps our Country has been a a little too proud & arrogant at times.
We no longer rule the waves & it’s time some recognised this instead of trying to re run the past.

I dont feel sorry for her I feel sorry for the millions who have struggled daily to survive and the tens of thousands who lost their lives because of her policies.SHE doesn't deserve a "good holiday" what planet are you on that thinks that? The poor folk whose lives she has wrecked deserve retribution for her ideological austerity that ONLY harmed those already badly off .

I agree with Gonegirl too. Yes of course TM made mistakes but she was surrounded by a a bunch of self serving back stabbers who should be ashamed of themselves but of course are not. I wonder if the next leader will have the integrity of TM.

Watching and listening to Mrs May give that brief speech to the press and tv cameras, I felt heartily sorry for her.
No family to console her, just Philip her husband who must have been torn to pieces inside seeing her strength evaporate and vulnerability bared.
I wish her everything good and a stress free life away from the raspy hissing of vultures who circled her, chewed her up and spat her out.
They should be very ashamed.

Sure she made plenty of mistakes, but just who else, in any party, could have got the country out of this mess, done any better and come out of it smelling of roses? No one in my opinion. They're all as bad as each other, busy back stabbing and watching out for themselves. Very few would understand the word integrity if it bit them on the bum! I despair for the future.

I'm on the planet which says thanks to Theresa May for trying her best with the odds against her, and also that she DOES deserve a good holiday!

I may have felt it was high time for TM to go, but would we have preferred her to cut and run like Cameron? She may have been blinkered and stubborn and indeed made bad decisions, but compared to David Davies, Boris Johnson and Michael Gove she has shown real grit and principles.
The sight of the Front Bench (not to mention the Back Bench) rats distancing themselves from her as they fled the sinking ship will be hard to forget or forgive.
I am sorry she has been so personally vilified both in the media and here and frankly, her going is not going to help the country one jot.

She was arrogant. Her belief in 'the country' was only her belief in herself. She thought was the only one who could make the things she wanted happen.
She was wrong. And the country will have to suffer for years as her legacy.
