Rather than commenting on whether this is fake news or not I am more concerned that it now appears to be acceptable to threaten anyone with violence simply because they hold views some people disagree with.

Banning milkshakes to save Farage
(304 Posts)Well Newcastle got him today but police in Edinburgh asked McDonald's not to sell milkshakes whilst he was there. What do you think? Is he fair game? Is it OK to target right wing politicians? Or should milkshakes be banned?

What a great quote and so true. I can’t wait to use it in general conversation.
Too late, Brendawymms. He's hoist by his own petard.
Remember that a lie can run halfway round the world before the truth has got its shoes on....
(A phenomenon used to their advantage by the Leave Campaigns)
Typical NF.
It is a spoof item. He was not trapped he did not intend to get off. It being reported in the news papers does not make it TRUE, it’s fake news.
I seriously thought this was a spoof item, but it's being reported in several papers.
"BUS STROP Nigel Farage ‘trapped on Brexit bus due to people armed with milkshakes"

Many able and concerned leavers - the likes of Yaxley- Lennon no doubt, that’s the fear. Mind you , as the BP has only one member that might be difficult.
'The shake up is long overdue. If Farage buggered off tomorrow there would be millions more able and concerned Leavers ready and willing to run the Brexit Party, such is the feeling of disgust at our parliamentarians and the Westminster bubble.'..then why did UKIP cease to be a party of any importance once Farage left. And who are these' other people that can run the party? Anne Widdecombe or Rees Moggs sister?
Yes they do know, but now think he is a saviour come to rescue them,
What utter rubbish,
I don't like Farage, Corbyn or Cable, Soubry, Thornberry (there's a Labour traitor if there ever was one) and going further back I had little time for Blair or Heath...
However, Leave voters were left for dead, trampled on as insignificant by a parliament determined to remain in the EU. Even my Remainer friends said much the same and that democracy was in danger.
As far as I am concerned, Mr Blobby or Postman Pat might have formed a party determined to fight back and they would have had my support. Farage has put a very strong case for the establishment now being rogue and self-serving and he has the support of millions BECAUSE of what is going on in our Parliament. British politics had reached a new low,
Remainers gave birth to the Brexit Party. It really shouldn't have been necessary. March 29th came and went and now we have EU elections on the cards after three futile years of negotiations. May has destroyed the Tory party, Corbyn doesn't know where exactly on the fence to sit any more and has had another face transplanted on to the back of his head given he can do 360 degree turns regarding his principles and beliefs at any given moment. Cable is rubbing his hands as a wilderness man who now sees a political role for the Lib Dems.
This will be marked as a turning point in British politics and rightly so.
The shake up is long overdue. If Farage buggered off tomorrow there would be millions more able and concerned Leavers ready and willing to run the Brexit Party, such is the feeling of disgust at our parliamentarians and the Westminster bubble.
Why didn't F just take his jacket off and use it to wipe his lower half and carry on?
He is a stirling chappie and all that.
It’s absolutely unacceptable. What an example
Agreed, and very bright too.
Complaints have been pouring in to King's College today - mine included. What an example!
I really like femi.
I was very uncomfortable with the last interview I saw with him julia HB as he seemed to have a minder with him who controlled what he could and couldn’t answer so he looked actually scared so I hope he isn’t being used as a pawn.
I think he’s a genuinely nice lad
McCrae, a lecturer in mental health at King’s College
That is unbelieveable, jura. It's bizarre on so many levels.
Just for interest, here's another politician being 'assaulted' while campaigning
twitter.com/CSM76/status/1130756370842693633
A rather more graceful reaction than Farage's, I think.
And here is Femi being abused
twitter.com/OFOCBrexit/status/1131071103454130176
Not pleasant viewing.
TBH I am tempted to write to the Dean of Kings College to say that his disgusting behaviour does not befit his Senior Lecturer post, and is a dreadful example for his students.
So, one of the men who threw liquid at Femi at the Brexit Conference, and called him a 'fu*king traitor' repeatedly- is:
McCrae, a lecturer in mental health at King’s College, has promoted far-right conspiracy theories in a video for the Bruges Group think tank and written for the pro-Tommy Robinson blog Politicalite. Nice!
Thanks Mycat we may find out at some point but I'm not holding my breath!
Sorry all for the huge link below, I can find a way of copying just the text. If you open it there are only a few lines to read and it is very apropos today.

Oh Nonnie
No I wasn’t in any way picking on you absolutely not. Several posters have said they thought it looked a staged milkshake but my point was well we won’t ever know if it was or wasn’t but the original point stands that any act such as this is wrong, as you said.
My point was don’t play into his hands if you see what i mean.
Anyway apologises if I annoyed you.
Mycat up until now I thought you and I had reasonable debates but now you have accused me of saying something I didn't ‘well it looked like a put up job to me’ . Actually you didn't say to whom you were referring but I think you mean me.
I cannot see how showing GN what I have heard and seen in any way weakens my post. All I have done is suggested the possibility, I have not said I think it is so, just that it might be so.
Censoring what I have read is not my style, I share things I agree with and also things I disagree with. That makes me far more open minded that some on here.
If those remarks were addressed to me I will accept your apology.
I think by saying you don’t support violence etc and then saying ‘well it looked like a put up job to me’ really weakens your post.
Look I have no time for Nigel but by suggesting it’s not real just plays into his hands!!
Rise above. Total condemnation. That’s all needs to be said.
FPTP has disadvantaged many parties, eg in 2017
Lib Dems – 2,371,772 votes 12 Seats
One of the worst examples was the 1983 GE -
Labour - 8,456,934 votes (27.6%) 209 seats
SDP/Lib - 7,780,949 votes (25.6%) 23 seats
There isn't much peace in society at the moment, "wrong think" seems to be a dreadful social crime for many.
Mr PayPal tried to get elected to parliament 7 times but the electorate saw through him
Another point - NF does have a lot of support in this country, even though he obtained no seats in Parliament at the last election. in 2017.
I've quoted these figures before:
DUP approx 300,000 votes 10 seats
SNP approx 1 million votes 35 seats
UKIP approx 600,000 votes No seats.
hmmm indeed- something just does not tally when you watch the vid and his heavies
