Corbyn's a crafty old fox. He was waiting to see how the EU votes panned out. It'll be interesting to see what's up his sleeve now.

Mr Farage's Brexit Party came first and the Liberal Democrats second, with Labour third, the Greens fourth and the Tories fifth.

The success of the Brexit Party will ignite the Tory leadership race and is likely to bolster the case of Eurosceptic candidates pushing for Britain to leave with or without a deal on October 31.

But we can't leave without a deal [which is what the Brexit party apparently stands for]. It's been explained over and over again that this would be one of the most dangerous and stupid things a country has inflicted upon itself....people talk about leaving on WTO terms but they haven't even accepted us, have they? I thought parliament had voted against leaving with no deal? So how can it now happen??

It is the legally default position Labaik no permission is needed from the HoC.

But it's bad for the country! Can't you see that??

The route used last time to stop a no deal is no longer open to MPs, and tbh it is difficult to see how a pm intent on no deal could be stopped, but, political pressure can do a huge amount and there is no doubt that a PM would find it extremely difficult particularly as there is no mandate for such a ruinous course.

Corbyn is in denial. I just heard him say "nothing has changed" (or words to that effect). Who does that remind you of?

Rory Stewart seems like the only palatable choice at the moment. His voting record on some issues is not without concerns- but he is the only one who is not totally tainted by this disastrous campaign.

I really hope there’s a move against Corbyn because he really isn’t up to the job.

If no deal looks likely, the opposition will call for a vote of no confidence in the Government. They will be joined by Remainder Tories, SNP. and the Government will fall. We will have a GE befor the year is out.
Whoever gets to be next Tory leader could be in for a very short term!

My vote is on Labour Jeremy Corbyn

Why is nobody clamouring for Corbyn's resignation. No other leader of any political party would survive a debacle like last night. At best they would fall on their sword, rather than be kicked out.

But, is there the tiniest cheap from anyone in the Labour party. I cannot hear it. Are they running scared? At least Labour knows, if it had the guts to sack himthat almost any Labour MP would make a better leader than the current incumbent.

What makes you think that people in the Labour party aren't clamouring for Corbyn's resignation? A lot of ex party members such as myself have been criticising Corbyn for a long time.

Because momentum love him and they don’t really care about getting into power anyway.

Yes, but it is the ones still in the party that count. but of course any MP who dares to disagree gets shafted by Momentum and finds themselves joining the hordes of ex Labour party members like you.

Annie your comment There will be no move against Corbyn until McClusky decides. It is, I think chillingly true. Heard a comment last night on BBC ( can't remember who, sorry) who said that McCluskey was against a second referendum. I don't know who the hell he thinks he is, and I do not like the hold that Momentum have on Corbyn. Labour will never win a bloody tombola while Corbyn is leader. He is insipid, ineffectual and weak. If Yvette Cooper or Tom Watson or Keir Starmer were to get shot of Corbyn ( and Abbott and McDonald) then Labour may have a chance.

I am hitting your like button. I don’t agree with yvette over Brexit but she’s a decent person.

In some ways it is consoling to know that Carbyn has been as inadequate a leader as most people forecast. Some did cling on to a slight beleif belief that it might be the making of him and like the fairy tale frog, when princess real power kissed him he would turn out to be a leader with charisma, gravitas and judgment. But frog/prince transfomations happen only in fairy tales.

His 'leadership (???)' has been a disaster. There are times when it is quite enjoyable to have one's worst forbodings confirmed.
