So much anger against older people

Why is so much blame being heaped on the older generation? Apparently we all voted for Brexit, are all too thick to make an informed choice, are all uneducated, we had an unfair share of the vote, are living on undeserved, generous pensions that are bankrupting the country, are living in houses which should be taken away and given to the younger generation, are ruining the NHS, are all racists, are all greedy, selfish and a general drain on society with nothing whatsoever to offer. I heard one 18 yr old suggest, unchallenged, in a TV interview that anyone over 45 should not be allowed to vote. So many fractures in the UK. I just hope they all heal before this anger turns to something much nastier.

Yes, Jevive I have children and grandchildren. They were raised as part of the family, not brought up to believe they were more important than any other member of the family.

Same with the grandchildren.

Why do you ask? Have you not been aware just how over child-centred this country has become in the last 30 odd years? Life has to revolve around the little dears.

Luckily not all families are like that, but the sense of entitlement that some youngsters have these days.....

No,I know they're not all like it.Mine are still babies,but my great niece and nephew are not like.

And, the behaviour of some adults after this referendum is no example on how to take something not going your way.

Yes, I get that people are angry, and disappointed. Some have said it's like a bereavement. Certainly I'm seeing denial, anger, bargaining.... but as adults we have to deal with that in a mature way, not by spitting abuse and vitriol at those around us.

I've watched people who are genuinely bereaved behave with dignity and strength when dealing with the worst that life could throw at them. I was proud that I had raised my son to be the man he was when his world imploded.
