Why Owen Smith , he did't become an MP untill 2010 , he and Angela are rumoured to be standing against Jeremy but not Hilary, Angela and Hilary were in the house when the Iraq war started but not Owen Smith. Angela and Owen resigned but
Hilary was sacked . Am I being stupid? I have never been one for conspiracy theories , there is something so odd about this though. Set up? no, used ? Possibly

Jelima I had thought of that. . I find it all so odd, Corbyn has been on the far left all his career, it was just accepted. I heard his speeches at miners rallies, not the same man, this hiding away, being protected by aids, having a spokesman - MacDonald, bringing the party to it's knees , it just doesn't fit for me . After the referendum result when it all exploded MacDonald said Corbyn was enjoying it, this too doesn't fit. He never had a problem with hecklers now he is hustled away by aids when he was asked a question by a reporter. All very odd.

What if JC and his supporters left the Labour Party and started their own, they could call it Momentum I suppose, or the Momentum Labour Party.

t. I never believed the anti semitism slur , I am not but I am against the actions of Israel in Palastine. I am unsure about how much support or how much damage is caused by momentum, I doubt their support I suppose, the more they give the worse the problems are developing.

I have never felt the need to belong, but, being in the centre, I prefer to look at the disaster (or not) a party may have made in government and vote to get them out at the next election (as long as the opposition have a good manifesto to follow).
I think there are many people like me who think it is democracy and there would never be a change of government otherwise.

Certainly, UKIP and Momentum make me feel very uneasy.
And odd, too, that the Labour party and Jeremy Corbyn have problems at the moment with alleged anti-semitism, yet the leader of JC's support group is Jewish.

Free to? This would only happen if the Labour Party were to split, and some Conservatives decided ( once it happened) to join it.It matters not a jot what I think it should be called.

The centre of the Labour Party are free to join the Libs as are the centre Tories Rosesarered . What do you think this lib/Tory /lab party should be called?

I would like those on the right/centre of the Labour party to join forces with the Lib Dems, and also those on the left /centre of the Conservative party to do the same, that IMHO would be the ideal, and would present a winning ticket for the next election.

So, DD and annieb are only Labour supporters welcome on this thread?It would seem so. I am stating exactly the same things as you about Corbyn, the difference is, I said them all along and not just this last week.

Why should our politics be so polarised? I know party loyalty is strong and many who become MP s start as reasonable people who can perhaps see other piints of view but then become locked in by the party machine, financial backers and the media moghuls. They have to be brave to walk away and few want to take that risk so they start parroting the party line instead of admitting they have doubts. The SDP founders were brave and many who thought the way they did are still in the LibDems.

Only insofar as they are/were a factions within the Labour Party. Militant and Momentum are poles apart.

The Lib/Dems were always the Jiminy Crickets of politics and things have never been the same since they lost that role due to the coalition. They reined in so many Conservative policies during that time but were castigated for the things they couldn't prevent. Rather than rejoin the Labour Party I'm thinking about joining them; they've always worked closely with the Labour Party in my area. I need to 'belong' somewhere at the moment.
