Christmas message: love the poor refugees and help them with our Christian charity.

EU negotiations: if we take in any refugees, then we must make sure that they do not achieve the same standard of living as native-born Brits, by refusing them the same entitlement to benefits.

It would have been a jolly good idea if Cameron had checked what Christian values are before spouting off about living by them .

Conservative Christian values?

A Portuguese family of three has been found living in a garage, and being charged £400 a month for the privilege. It's in Leicestershire. The garage has been converted to contain a small kitchen, bathroom and bedroom/living room, but has no heating and no natural light. The tenants could have been trapped if there had been a fire.
Fortunately the council has rehoused them.

A frail 92 year old widow is to be deported to South Africa, after coming here to live with her daughter in 2014. Her visa application has been rejected. She has no family left in South Africa.
She was born under the British flag in 1924, and both her father and brother had fought for the British Empire. That does not count. What does is the fact that her condition is not deemed to be life threatening and can be treated in her country of origin.
Proud top be British? Not me.

Cameron playing tribute to the people who cope with the homeless, sick and vulnerable for the work they are doing at Christmas is a bit like thanking the turkey for being Christmas dinner. They (and it) would much prefer not to be there at all! They are there because this government has failed to protect the most vulnerable, and lined the pockets of their rich mates. As for Christian values if he has them I prefer atheism and humanism thank you. His are probably selective anyway, bet he doesn't like the bit about the rich not getting into heaven.

Is a 92 year old woman going to bankrupt this country ? Can anyone one, no matter how much a Tory , claim this is Christian values?

Re "thanking the turkey", actually it's common among hunter gatherers for them to honour and thank the animal they have hunted and killed for food, so not such a crazy idea after all

But it's a much more important thing to discuss than whether people are housed properly and living with their families.

I find it almost laughable that some of the biggest "Tory bashers" are royalists.

Does one have to be a Tory to have respect for the queen? What a strange view of many of the people in this country

That's not what I meant by my comment Anniebach I should have made it clearer and said;

How can someone (DC) be accused of not holding Christian values because he is a millionaire, attended the best schools, wouldn't know hunger/starvation, will be warm this winter etc. ? If being astronomically rich means that "one" doesn't hold Christian Values then the Queen and co. Must surely be complete heathens!

My point has boing whatsoever to do with the queen liking/disliking DC . She probably doesn't give a flying fart who's in power as she (and her brood) will be okay (thank you very much) no matter what.

Ab do you really expect Cameron and his missis to use his own money to sort out the economy of the U.K.? Hardly realistic. I've no doubt he pays his way in taxes, and gives to charities.

We need well educated, intelligent, people to run this country, but no one can conjure money out of thin air. And this country really doesn't need more debt to pass on to the next generation.
