Hello, i don't know if it would help but my son suffered severely from hives when he was younger and none of the standard antihistamines helped him. We finally tried an antihistamine that was an H2 antagonist (something like that lol) as opposed to H1 and his hives improved drastically, eventually we tapered the dose and he was hive free.

Oh Mel1967 I feel your pain, I really do!
Mine is very specifically located, let's just say in the knicker area 
and has been going on for literally years!
I've even been referred to the dermatology dept, had various creams, ointments etc, but it still comes back.
Hope you (and I!) can find some relief!
