I'm going to be at DD's house near Glasgow 14-23 March and wondered if anyone fancied meeting up then. I've never been to a meet up in Glasgow so maybe if anyone has and knows a good venue they could say where would be good.

Good morning all! I have PMd you to ask your permission to post a couple of photos of the meeet up.

That's fine, Marydoll. Thank you. ?

Well of course I’ll have to contact my Agent to check the fee but it should be fine
Thank you marydoll ?
Love Jenny x

ixion Thu 17-Mar-22 13:12:27

Well, Jenny, I hear you were hardly inconspicuous , standing on the steps waving your red knickers on a stick.
That's one way to make sure you are recognised?

Grandmabatty Thu 17-Mar-22 13:12:40

You look very like her!!!!

brook2704 Thu 17-Mar-22 13:44:24

ixion you should have seen what the others were up to … I don’t think we’ll be invited back in a hurry ?

It was indeed a great day out!

I don't know about stopping trains, Bobbie, Jenny, , but you certainly stopped the traffic?

Marydoll Thu 17-Mar-22 20:23:18

Don't we scrub up well?

ixion Thu 17-Mar-22 20:50:00

Oh, this is tantalising! I see Marydoll (from the wedding pics) and Jenny. What a lovely group and a credit to this site.
I'm so lucky to have found you all when lockdown started.
Thank you!?

Marydoll Thu 17-Mar-22 20:51:56

Thank you! We are indeed bonnie lassies.

Curlywhirly Thu 17-Mar-22 22:19:23

Aw, lovely photo! Glad you had such a good time.???

Greenfinch Fri 18-Mar-22 07:13:26

What a lovely photo of you all. I keep looking at it . Where are you and what is the picture above all your heads? We have lovely meet ups in Berkshire but can only round up about 5 grans maximum.

Marydoll Fri 18-Mar-22 07:45:47

Thank you Greenfinch, the venue was the Glasgow Concert Hall, Cafe Bar.
I am not sure about the photo, we were too busy chatting.

That's a low number og grans. Pre pandemic, we had seventeen attendees! The noise was horrendous! ?

Marydoll Fri 18-Mar-22 07:50:37

For Greenfinch . It is obviously Glasgow, but that's all I know!

baubles Fri 18-Mar-22 07:56:18

Is it Frank Ifield?

Grandmabatty Fri 18-Mar-22 07:59:03

I thought it was Frankie Vaughn who visited Glasgow in the 50s. My mum met him and wasn't impressed.

FannyCornforth Fri 18-Mar-22 07:59:54

What a lovely photo!
You all look so lovely and happy!
Thank you Marysmile

FannyCornforth Fri 18-Mar-22 08:01:20

Facially it looks a bit like Liberace to me!

Marydoll Fri 18-Mar-22 08:02:49

I don't think it is Frankie Vaughan. I checked that.

dragonfly46 Fri 18-Mar-22 08:08:29

Can we have some names to faces please? I only recognise Marydoll

FannyCornforth Fri 18-Mar-22 08:08:47

Here is Liberace meeting the press after playing The Glasgow Empire in 1960

Charleygirl5 Fri 18-Mar-22 08:09:04

Marydoll do you think that venue will allow you back if you were so raucous? It is a lovely photo, thank you.

Marydoll Fri 18-Mar-22 08:28:55

The fact that we- celebrities use the venue, guarantees more customers. We are a crowd puller!!! wink

Anyway, the prices are very reasonable and they have a an alcohol licence, much to my annoyance. Slainthe!
