Non-fiction book: looking for someone aged 75+ to talk about changes in British life

Hi everyone!

I am an independent non-fiction author and I am looking for one person aged 75 or over in the UK who would be interested in taking part in a series of paid conversations for a book I am writing.

The book is about how major technological, economic and social changes are actually experienced across a human lifetime. I am interested in things such as changes in work and the economy,, relationships and family life, changing social attitudes, television and popular culture, Thatcherism computers, the internet, smartphones and now AI.

What interests me most is the difference between how these changes are described in history or economics and how they were actually experienced in one person's everyday life.

I am not looking for an expert or someone who has had an extraordinary career. I am looking for someone who is curious, reflective and comfortable talking openly about their life.

I am hoping to have the conversations between now and 28 September. I would initially suggest around five hours in total, paid at £70 per hour, spread across several shorter conversations. If we both felt there was more to explore, there could also be further paid conversations afterwards.

The interviews would take place by telephone or video call.

This is research for a non-fiction book, so some of the conversations may inform material that is eventually published. The participant would appear under a pseudonym, with identifying details changed or removed, and we would agree clearly beforehand how material from the interviews could be used.
