I’ve missed the backstory here annsixty I thought you were going to say about the extra 20p a week (or whatever) for over 80’s!

No Urms no backstory, there was confusion earlier about the extra all people in receipt of a state pension would get with their WFP to help with cost.
I have been getting the extra 25 pence a week for 5 years now and I am still not rich?!!

What is WFP please? Is it payable to all those over 80?

It’s WinterFuel Payment boho that you get when you become a pensioner. Extra payment if over 80.

On top of the £400 everyone will receive and the annual winter payment of £200/300 for pensioners, the extra £600 will go a long way to pay increased heating costs, a total of £1200 is £200 a month for the six coldest months. I am sure it will help a lot.

If you are in receipt of DWP (old age pension, as was) you’ll get the WFA automatically (plus £100 extra if you’re 80+). No need to apply - check your bank account from mid November for it.

Teacheranne I think the £600 includes the WFP which we already receive.
£1000 in total.

Can I just clarify that this is nothing to do with the additional Cost of Living Payments? I'll put this up again under Annual Winter Fuel Payment 2022. It is all very confusing but this is the one we get every year after State Pension Age.

i am 82 and dh is 73, so, depending which of us is taken into account first, there is a discrepancy of £50

1) You qualify and live with someone under 80 who also qualifies, you get£250, they get £350

2)You qualify and live with someone 80 or over who also qualifies, you get £250 and they get £300

You need a very special mindset catlady. Every time I think I've got it they make it more difficult.

I'll see if I can contact someone who knows. If we cannot find out, then I would assume the lower figure and it might be a nice surprise. There is usually a logic behind these things. You just have to work out what it is.
