I need a new cylinder vacuum cleaner. Recommendations please.

I have had a Miele cylinder for around 25 years. It is bagged, but no doubt times have changed. It works well on hard floors but I no longer have any animals. I suppose it is a tad unwieldy but I think all cylinders are.

How well does it clean?

You won’t be disappointed with its cleaning overall. It’s particularly impressive on hard floors, be it smooth laminate or floorboards with gaps.

It has no problem lifting dirt from deep within the fibres of carpet and, as you’d expect, it does a great job with pet hair. Plus, any small particles and allergens it collects are locked safely away in the filter, so they won’t find their way back into the room you’ve just cleaned.

Larger debris is swiftly sucked up, and you won’t have to keep going over the same patch of carpet to pick up any hair or fur. Suction stays strong even as the bag fills up.

All I can say is her house is clean and they have a dog albeit a shorthaired dachshund 😂

I, on the other hand, have a Henry and a cordless Dyson stick in a large grubby house with no resident pets. The Henry is pretty efficient but it's a cylinder.

I'm moving soon to a house with carpets so may be watching this thread.

Sebo is the best I have found. Mine is upright and has a bag that is so easy to replace having a special cap which snaps on and stops any dust escaping.
