Accidental use of leather cleaning product on worktop.

It depends how clean the worktop was before, must try a aggressive cleaner on a non conspicuous area on our worktop

I think these are surfactant, anti-microbials and preservatives - but as they aren't mixed ip in a way that they are supposed to be used in the kitchen I think I'd make sure I thoroughly rinsed off what I could.
Cleaning leather is a different job (as you know!

I don't think I'd be happy to use them near food preparation for example - but maybe there's a chemistry here on Gransnet who knows for sure.

Many of these products contain similar ingredients and have the same effect, I think you just found this out!

The leather cleaner I used was Tesco Leather Cleaner, it was very cheap compared to the branded names you can get.
It contains amongst other items ( which it doesn't list) Laurylamine Dipropylenediamine, Methylisothiazolinone,Benzisothiazolinone, Perfume.
I'm sorry but that all it says on the container. I must admit I'm inclined to use it again, the quartz is still gleaming.

I’d carry on. Short of taking a hammer to it it’s practically indestructible.
