Have you begun your Christmas Decorations yet ?

Tree and everything else will go up on Thursday, because Gdcs are coming on Friday to stay for the weekend.

I'm just glad that it's all optional - as I really dislike clutter - so no, I haven't started yet - and won't be starting either. I used to do it for the kids (reluctantly) but now I'm a guest elsewhere, there's no point - and the freedom to choose not to.

For a number of years I've put the decorations up just after Advent Sunday. This will be my second year in a retirement flat complex with common room. Last year felt pretty grim mentally, so this year I've bought myself a new (artifical) tree and decs in blue and white to match my decor. Looks good.

Don’t usually put mine up until week before Christmas but today we were both here with nothing much planned and I was in the mood.

Put tree up ( about 20 year old fibre optic with decorations going back to 1977 and each year I buy a new one) and greenery up the banisters. Wreath on front door and new angel on lounge door. That’s it, I don’t like stuff hanging all over the place. Feels all twinkly and cozy in here tonight.

Yes all is decorated, i asked for help with the tree which I got and am very pleased with the result...

I light my Christmas candles and view the Christmas decorations and feel happy, happy, happy.

Yours are really gorgeous Frenchgalinspain! I’ve just put the candle bridge up on our bedroom window sill. I love the warm soft yellow light. It comforts me.

grandMattie reminded me last year I can leave it up until Candlemas, which is, I think, 6th February. It sees me through the dark afternoons of winter. My mum bought it for me which is a poignant memory. Mixed sadness and comfort.

Inside - accidentally a tree has been accomplished. We do fresh trees, but our eldest granddaughter brought us a fake tree Sunday (family emergency at her daughters home, so we needed to be prepared? Assembled it in the playroom. Lots of lights already attached to flip open limbs, quite easy.

We did at the weekend usually do it the first weekend of Dec. Grandaughter very artistic she does a display on all the downstairs windowsills they look gorgeous

All up in our house as we had visitors at the weekend and i thought they would enjoy it and they did. Everything comes down on NYD.

My husband and I put up the christmas tree today and he is almost done with the outside lights. All that is left is to decorate the back deck for christmas day

ginny I am in a similar position. It's my birthday today and I don't like having birthday cards and Christmas ornaments together. May start on the tree today though.

A house near us has got a big blow up Santa Claus hanging from a bedroom window (looks like he is climbing in the window) and some blow up reindeer in the garden pulling a sleigh. Every morning we go out and the figures are all flat, like deflated balloons. They then get blown up again during the day and the next morning they are flat again. What a lot of effort 😧

Just doing them!! The lights work so that’s a good start!

Not yet. Maybe next week. Both grown up daughters already have theirs up.

None up yet as I am dependent on someone going in the attic to get the decorations down.

Yes, we started the last week of November. We have rather a lot of decorations and three trees. I want them to be up for a reasonable length of time before I have to remove them by 6 January and before my THR scheduled for 8 January.

Tree up, lights on, but we’re leaving the decorations for Gdcs, who will be staying from tonight until Sunday night.

I have my two ‘strings’ of robins up, though - bought ages ago from Past Times - they come out every year.

Here’s the tree so far (NB hippos have their Christmas ‘hats’ on) and the robins - I love my robins!
