Furniture indentations

Does anyone know how to get rid of indentations in a carpet where heavy furniture has stood ? The carpet is a nylon mix.

They always say let an ice cube melt ina indentation, then dry naturally and hoover.?

We've done that bit just put the ice cubes in a sealed plastic bag. When the ice is melted brush the pile with a stiff brush. Surprisingly, it works!
