I have never heard of Nicky - at least not in this context - can you get them in most supermarkets?

Everyone I know uses Nicky. It is so superior to all the rest and isn't expensive. I get mine in Farmfoods but have seen it in other discount stores.

Has to be Andrex quilts for me, but I do get stressed by my daughter and her excessive use (21 and still living at home ). ?

I think the toilet tissue is not as strong as it was to make sure it dissolves quicker and should causes less blockages and fatbergs in the sewers. Does anyone want Izal back? Or squares of cut up newspaper?

lillie, I used to buy the double length Cushelle, but Asda has stopped selling it so changed to the standard size. However, none of it seems quite as strong as it used to, hence trying to find a better roll. I have never seen Nicky but will keep an eye out. a new Aldi is opening near me in a couple of weeks so will try there. There is a Lidl a few hundred metres away, they won't be too happy!

I use Andrex Aloe Vera. This is the only one I find kind enough for my botty!

Home Bargains it is! When I go in there, or Wilko, or Poundland, I wonder how the big name pharmacies keep going, so much branded stuff is in those shops at rock bottom prices.

I prefer Cushelle too. Shysal it might be that you didn't realise there are two different types. We always by the double rolls 4=8, far better value and less dense.

I have been buying Cosy Soft from Poundstretcher. It is £5.00 for two packs of 18 rolls. Can't bear the thought of flushing quilted sheets and the possibility of blocked pipes, as we did years ago with wipes etc from neighbour with babies?

Nicky, but make sure it's the Nicky Elite! When we are anywhere near a shop that sells it, we buy it by the bale.

Elrel Nicky is sold in home bargains and some cheap household stores . I always get three ply.

I just use ASDAs Shades so soft. I cannot see the point in getting cushioned ones.
To be honest the sort of toilet paper you need depends on the texture of what you are wiping! A yucky thought I know, but there is no point in not thinking about this sensibly.

Drink enough liquid and eat more veg. If I have resorted to a co-codamol I tend to need something stronger.

It must be very difficult for those with long term bowel problems. My mother suffered dreadfully.

I don't like the quilted ones - why would you need all that padding?

And I worry it could block the shared outlet pipe...we've had enough problems with next door's baby-wipes in that regard!

Nicky is the way to go, really liked lidls luxury one that was white with green leaves printed on to it but my local store doesnt sell it any more. I have tried so many others but will stick with Nicky

I used to prefer Cushelle, but it has changed I think. I have tried all the ones available in Asda and have settled on Andrex quilted being the strongest. However, because it is thicker there are fewer sheets to the roll so it works out quite expensive.
I remember when soft toilet tissue replaced the shiny medicated sort. My father declared that it was as useless as a handful of confetti! For some of those I have tried he wasn't far wrong.

I must watch the wrong tv channels - where can I buy Nicky?

The best one I have found is Aldi' s finest, so as to speak, if one can refer to loo roll in that way

There was a riveting thread on Mumsnet a while back about wiping bottoms. A poster had discovered during a conversation with her OH that he wipes his bottom STANDING UP!!! This led to a long thread in which it turned out that many people do this - I had never heard of such a thing! AS one person said: how does he get anywhere near his anus when his buttocks are together!

Kirbygirl....same problem, I am working my way thro every make as I hate the shredding...gets everywhere!! My winners at the moment are, Cushelle (try to buy when on offer), Asda shades is a close 2nd, BUT just bought Superdrug 3ply, not 'tried' it yet, but will report back lol. Nicky type is so lightweight it seemed to take some flushing away so I dont rate that at all.

We buy Nicky quilted loo rolls and they seem to hold up well ... switched from Andrex quilts after seeing one of those comparisons on tv where Nicky won!

Asda's Shapes seems much better than Andrex. DH buys it in massive quantities - not that we particular need that number its just nice not to have to face the worry of the last roll!
