Tumble dryer recall

My Hotpoint dryer is one on the recall list, we have been in touch and have been told that they will get back to us sometime in the next 5 weeks. Has anyone had their dryer repaired/modified ? An online forum said that some people had been given new machines as it was not cost effective to alter them.

We are waiting for whatever comes next , as we have let them know ours is on the list. I think they can be modified, but we will see.I think if you keep the fluff filter clean after each use, which we do anyway, it's safe enough, but not everyone does this.

I keep my filter clean, removing fluff every time I use it. I have seen some horrendous filters in holiday homes, why would you not clean it ?
