M&S Leg of Lamb

I think I would let them know about it rather than complain. I have to say DD's M & S turkey was rather tough too. We had duck from them yesterday - nice but not much on it for £7 for two legs!

I would complain!
I had a leg of lamb from the Co-op for New Year's day. It was lovely. I don't think you can roast a joint of meat in any way that will make it tough, except perhaps if you leave it so long in the oven that it dries out.
I have long since stopped shopping in M&S. I don,'t think they are anything like as good as they used to be.

Last year I had lamb from M+S which was tough and had a topping which tasted like wallpaper paste (well how I imagine it would taste) and I emailed them and told them exactly that. I saved the packaging and was told to take that to the SF where I had bought it and got a full refund. Do not let it go. M+S meat is not as good now and I am very pleased with all the meat I have bought from Aldi.

I have found quite a bit of M&S food purchases disappointing of late. Fortunately we have a Waitrose, which is no more expensive. It just does not have the range.

Sherish, I'd definitely let M&S know about this. Take a bit of the meat with you. M&S are in real difficulty with their clothing lines and profits seem to come largely from their successful food ranges.

Yes. Email head office. I complained about a couple of things from Ocado and got twenty pounds.

Thank you all for your replies. I am going to email head office as I would have been more furious if we had had guests round. In fact I would have been mortified. We too have had lovely meat from Aldi and from now on will continue shopping places other than M&S.

I'm a huge fan of Aldi and Lidl and never had any disappointments. Their prices are second to none. I think they are giving M&S, Sainsbury, Tesco, etc etc a run for their money. High time they got their act together, i think!

We had M & S Free range pork for Christmas dinner and it was lovely. Most if their meat comes with precise cooking instructions. If you followed these and the lamb was tough then let them know.

I have emailed their head office now and I'm awaiting a reply.

We had a leg of lamb yesterday. Organic, bought from the farm that reared it. It had been de-boned for easy carving and was delicious.

M&S have gone downhill in every dept in the last few years. The food ranges are not worth the money they charge. Waitrose is better.

I do like M&S jars of coffee but they appear to be incapable of stocking a shelf at my local M&S Foodstore these days.

We had fabulous big steaks on NYE.... three for about £10 from Aldi. They were melt in the mouth.
We had browsed in M&S but they were around £10 each there.

Aldi for us this holiday-- 2 fillet steaks on CEve £10 +a few pence
,NYE 2 duck breasts (frozen) £4-99. All very good.

Fillet steak for us tonight, always buy from Aldi and never been disappointed.

Re M&S does anyone else have trouble with their website?
I have a mobility problem and find it convenient to buy some clothes and household goods on line but I have practically given up on Marks. It takes forever to download each page so moving from one to another is frustrating and time consuming. Yesterday I put 'ladies shoes' in the search box and it came up with a couple of pairs plus some men's shoes. I don't have these problems with other sites - some are better than others but none as bad as M7S

daffydil you aren't the only one, I hate their website! The former website was easy to use, this one is definitely not user-friendly, and I have told them so, both when asked to give feedback and personally.
Think their online service and clothing has gone downhill over past year too, and prices seem to have gone up considerably yet quality deteriorated

daffydil their new website is dreadful, slow and unstable. I have ended up phoning in frustration (and then missing a sale deal because the items had 'sold out'). I have complained on more than one occasion and the helpful people on the telephone have promised to pass on complaints but nothing changes.

Their website is dire.

I managed to get on to their website yesterday, however I did not test the buying process as most of the stuff in the sale looked dire.

I have now received a full refund and an apology from Head Office. I am still wary now about buying their meat.

That's good new sherish we had their slow cook beef in red wine yesterday and it was very nice indeed.
