So Many Exercises, I Only Need 3

Sometimes when I wake up late and don’t have much time, I just set a 10-minute timer and stick to three simple exercises: glute bridges, dead bugs, and squats. Nothing intense- just enough to get my body moving and work on some mobility.

Little and often is the key.

I might try that one day.

How do you know those are the ones for you?
Have you tried loads of exercises, and exercise classes in the past?

I am finally about to sign up to a Pilates class.
I am hoping I get pointers to exercises that will suit me best.

Yeah, I’ve tried and taught a lot of different exercises over the years. I think the key is finding movements that feel good for your body and that you can actually stick with.

I keep coming back to those three because they’re simple, cover some basic strength and mobility, and don’t require much time or equipment. You don’t always need a complicated workout to get your body moving.

Pilates is a great option too. A good instructor can help you understand your movement and figure out which exercises suit you best. Hopefully you enjoy the class!

Thank you very much.
A useful thread.

My 10 minute regime is squats, biceps and triceps curls, lunges with row, seated abs and wall presses. 3 sets of 12 for each. Gets me moving despite having RA and vertigo, hence no floor work.

I have been doing a warm up in the garden connecting with the earth etc but no chance of that today. Just doing the ones set by my physio to help my gluteal tendonitis- slowing mending.

Incidentally I think my problem was caused by Pilates so beware of being over zealous as I was.

I usually do exercises with hand weights at home for upper body strength, but I also have a set of exercises from my chiropractor designed to enhance her treatment for my hip. I don’t have to see her so often now - it’s either working or she’s fed up of me😂!
