Hi all…. Been for my first hypnotherapy appointment today. It was very informative and interesting, learning how our brains work and how we form bad habits over time. I knew a lot of it already but not what to do about it. I have more sessions lined up and ‘ homework’ to do before the next one. It’s all about retraining our thinking and I’m looking forward to putting it all into practice. I know there’s no quick fix and it’ll require mammoth effort from me but I’m willing to put the time in if it gives me peace. I’m looking forward to feeling ‘normal’! I don’t want mind numbing meds if I can possibly avoid it. Thank you to all who responded. It’s good to hear other people’s perspectives and advice when your mind is swamped with anxiety. I never told any family member about this so being able to off load on here as well as with a therapist, is a blessing.
