Vaginal Atrophy Estradiol

I use twice a week as per GP instructions but have to supplement with eg KY jelly as required for intimate occasions, otherwise still painful.

Thank you all for your experiences. Will probably start with 2 a week and see how it goes. Still feeling uncomfortable on the outside will have to ask GP for support. Seriously this VA certainly is very trying never heard of it before now.

I used it twice a week as per the doc's instructions but I was still getting UTI's. Never thought to double the dose. I thought it was a bit of a nuisance in that 'what goes up must come down' so there was, inevitably, some discharge.
The nurse has now put me on a gel form -Blissel 50micrograms. You squeeze it into an applicator and insert that. It is less messy but I have had yet another UTI. Still a work in progress for me.
I would say do whatever you are comfortable with.

Using Estradiol twice a week was enough to keep my worst symptom - frequent UTIs - at bay for the last ten years.

Unfortunately, I have started getting them again this year.
A bladder scan hasnt found any obvious cause there, so maybe I need to start using them more frequently now. I shan't do that without consulting my GP again though.

Twice a week is sufficient for me to keep symptoms at bay. Has been fine for the past couple of years but will keep taking it as I am sure problems would return if I stopped.

Don’t forget to use the estradiol cream too. I do one tiny pessary one syringe of cream plus cream around. It really helps with discomfort. I use once a week but that’s because I’m too tired to do any more . But three is optimum

Hi, I use the cream. Twice a week. I did use the tablet form.. But gained weight fast. So come of that.. Been happy with cream for 3 yrs.. That tablets do help with sornes and it'll plump up your dodar.. Haha. You'll feel good even more as time goes on.

I use it twice a week, but a double dose each time. I did some research a while ago and discovered that when it was developed the dosage was tested at 25mcg per dose, but the NHS baulked at the cost and insisted on a 10mcg standard dose in the hope that most of us would be satisfied with the significantly lower amount. I needed more.

I was told to use it 2x a week but every 3 months I could use it 7x per week if needed, it is less effective now, I'm 68 and have just used it 5 days running so I'll try it another 2 days then maybe ring the dr

I was told to use twice a week- seems ok for me.

I tried once a week (after using it twice for a long time) but the symptoms and soreness came back. I asked the doc and was told I could use it 2-3 times a week indefinitely if necessary.

After several years of estradiol, I now use it just once a week, which is enough to keep me comfortable. You could try using it twice a week, but up it to three times if you’re not comfortable.
