Thank you for getting back to us.
I’m sorry it was not the outcome you hoped for, but as others have said, they seem to be very thorough with what they are doing, and that is good.
Another wait must be awful, but I so hope it turns out ok for you.
You’re in my thoughts.

Mammogram recall
(109 Posts)Hi there ,I'm in a bit if a state . I had my first mammogram 2 weeks ago and received a letter on Wednesday to say results are unclear and need more tests. I called the breast screening centre and asked why I have to come back . She said that there is a area they want to look at . Well I'm in a absolute state . Can't eat can't sleep. My appointment is on Monday. I don't feel any lumps or anything . I'm just so scared . The lady did say it could be absolutely nothing and it's common to get called back especially with the first one . Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen?
Like many others here, I was recalled for what proved to be a cyst. That was over 30 years ago, no call backs since.
lemsip thank you I'm so glad everything turned out to be clear. Did they tell you that you had a suspicious area ? They said mine was a very small shadow.
keepingquiet yes I am extremely anxious have been for many years . I hope you are doing well now ?
Blue54 thank you for you kind words . I hope you are doing well now ? Xx
MOTB I've been through the same thing as yourself so I can fully understand how you are feeling. The only difference was they told me there and then it was BC but can I re-assure you things were put in place very quickly. Within weeks I was operated on and treatment started quickly thereafter.
I know it's a very worrying and difficult time for you but please try to think positive and that they'll do their best for you. I hope you get the all clear at your next appointment.
Take care of yourself and let us know how you get on.
Thinking about you and hoping for good news for you xx
Thankyou for the update. They are being very thorough - you are in very good hands.
Yes, better to get it all done at once, harrowing though it was, than be waiting for more recalls. It sounds to me that they were being very thorough.
I hope the biopsy result is negative, but if it isn't it sounds like they will do the best they can for you.
It sounds to me that you are a very anxious person and that maybe you should get some help with dealing with these events in the future.
I have had anxiety recently and found it far more debilitating than breast cancer.
I won't say try not to worry but I will say try to trust in the medics, they are there to help you make a full recovery whatever the matter is.
had one last week and result already , clear thankfully...
That's good they're being so thorough.
🤞
Thanks for update. What a horrible time you've had, and of course you will worry until you get the results. Everything crossed (well not boobs as that would be hard to do, even at my age).
Amazing that the system is working, well and fast, and that you are being looked after so well. hugs
Hi ladies, I wanted to come back and update you all as promised. So that was probably one of the worst mornings of my life .First, I was called in for another mammogram, and then 30 minutes later, I got called in for another one . Then a while after the second mammogram, I was called by the doctor and told I have 1 area that look suspicious of cancer and another area they are not sure about . All on my right breast . My life just flashed in front of my eyes thinking about my boys and my husband and telling my mum and sister. Then she advised me that I needed an ultrasound that would hopefully give me more answers. She said they are better at confirming a definite cancer. So she brought another consultant in to perform the ultrasound. By this point, I had tears streaming down my face. But this doctor went to get another doctor so now I've got 3 doctors in the room. The 3rd doctor looked at the first area and said it was a cluster of cysts, then the second area, and said another cyst. But then said there is a small shadow 10mm in size so tiny that she's not 100% about . But did say that it could be hormonal and that she wasn't as worried as when I first walked in. So, I had to have that bit biopsied and cysts drained . Oh, and they also put a titanium thing in so they know for future reference . So after all that, I had to have another mammogram to make sure the titanium was in place okay . Then, I was told to go to speak to the breast care nurse. But 5 minutes later, I was called in again for a 4th mammogram . Then, the breast care nurse came to speak with me about taking care of my biopsied site . She said that since doing the last 2 mammograms, it's now a very low suspicious, so she is hoping the outcome of the biopsy is positive. I have an appointment a week on Wednesday for my results. I am hoping it turns out to be good news. But I'm not sure I can cope with the worry for that long. My nerves are absolutely shot to pieces . I just don't even know how I got through all that this morning.
Thank you again, ladies, for all your support xx
What a dreadful time you have had. I cannot find the right words, but am sending my good wishes for a positive outcome. X
to mum of twin boys at this very worrying time.

Thank you for your kind words xx
It's so very normal to feel worried. Allow yourself time to worry and think it all through during the day and then keep yourself distracted when you can. Remind yourself at bedtime of all the reassuring comments here. Whatever the outcome, you can handle it and you will do it well.
Thanks ladies for all your kind words . It is really appreciated. And helps so much . Thank you xx
Yup, I had this last year - it was my first NHS one. Because it’s the first one, they don’t have anything to compare it against for any changes, so it’s common for them to double-check things the first time. It’s a horrible thing to wait for, but I’m sure it will all be fine xx
Hi, I got recalled once. The biopsy was all clear, just some granular tissue . I do remember the worry though, so know how nerve wracking it is. As Doodledog says, 9 out of 10 are false alarms xx
I too understand all too well how this particular anxiety feels and send my best wishes.
I am sending my best wishes for tomorrow, Mumoftwinboys I know how nerve wracking the wait is.
Mumoftwinboys - good luck for tomorrow- will be thinking of you x
Good luck for tomorrow, Mumoftwinboys. It isnt easy, but try to stay positive.
This time tomorrow the wait will be over. The odds are very much in your favour that all will be well.
Good luck.
Thinking of you for tomorrow.
Please let us know how you get on.
Nothing is worse than waiting, I know.
Having a real wobble today. Had a horrible dream last night that it was the worst news . My anxiety is so bad . I have battled with extreme anxiety for as long as I can remember. But the last year it had definitely gotten a good bit better . I just don't want this to set me back 😪 xx
