Covid booster

We had flu jabs last week but the surgery had run out of covid jabs and we have to wait till next week. For the first time, we had bad reactions to our last covid jabs. OH lost a day and I lost 1/2 a day. and we felt ill for a couple of days. Keeping our fingers crossed we will be OK this time.

Having flu jab tomorrow, they aren’t doing Covid jabs at our surgery- but decided I am not having any more Covid jabs as I was really bad last time.

Had both last night at pharmacy - one in each arm. Covid arm pretty ok but flu arm very sore. I was told that flu injection is a heavier liquid then covid and can have more effect when injecting and after. Painful arm and joints, slight headache and bad tempered (normal!). Had pneumonia vaccine several years ago - arm in absolute agony - felt dreadful and went to bed for two days. I was told that was good as it meant by immune system was working well?

I had my covid booster this time and had a really bad reaction to it. Aching all over, shivering, headache. Very unusual for me.
Has anyone else had this and how long did it last?

No, all I've suffered is my arm sore until the next day.

I should have had my booster last Wednesday but tested positive for Covid the day before (after feeling unwell). My husband tested negative so went ahead with his jab. He was OK for a day but then has been very poorly just like me for a week almost. We are both just getting over it.

I had both this morning. Waiting to see how I get on over the next 24 hours.

I have reacted - once very badly, but it was over in 5 hours, other times less unwell feeling for a short while. The upside is it does show that the vaccine is 'provoking' your immune system. The question is are you happy to face Covid without a primed immune system...?

My husband and I both had flu and covid jabs last week. I've felt fine ever since but he's felt coldy and shivery.

Had my covid jab yesterday sore arm . I have PAF and it made my heart go crackers for about half hour then fine . As my arm is still sore . Will have my flu one tomorrow in my other arm .

I had flu and Covid jabs last Saturday and apart from the occasional twinges in both arms I've been fine.

Ours (Covid and flu) were booked in at the surgery which was fine until they changed the time… and were picking up Grandchildren from 2 different schools… receptionist suggested the pharmacy- fine got there on the Thursday but could only have the flu one (arm sore and blotchy red where I had the jab - no problems previously. But apparently it was a different one as I’d gone up an age bracket), the Covid one hadn’t been booked in…told to phone on the Saturday morning- still not logged in… phoned another pharmacy and had the Covid one… Also I did take 2 x paracetamol before the Covid vaccine - got a really achy and sore arm and couldn’t lift it for a few days.

I took a friend to have our covid jabs yesterday, we both had Moderna for the first time. I slept well and my arm feels a bit tender today, she is aching, shivery and has a headache, and she couldn’t sleep last night. It’s odd how it affects people differently. She’s already had her flu jab, mine is in a fortnight.

I had one in each arm yesterday morning. The injection sites are sore if I poke them, so I don't. Otherwise, I feel very sleepy and slightly spaced out, about the same reaction as I usually get for them separately.

I’ve always had any vaccinations offered and the worst reaction has been a sore arm and my nurse daughter and her colleagues think that is due to who does it and exactly where in your upper arm is jabbed! I had flu and Covid last Saturday at my local pharmacy. Flu hurt going in and my arm was sore overnight but no other noticeable reaction.First time at pharmacy and very pleased. At nearly 78 years old I feel that I should take anything offered unless there are contra indications and you are usually asked questions anyway before the jab.

Yesterday I sat for a while in a vaccination clinic waiting room ( it was a shared room with another clinic) . And I was interested to hear people asking about their choice , the nurse taking people through said " its up to you, but it's better to have them separately. Just pop back when you are ready for second one. "Nurses from the hospital were among the people waiting , they all had the flu jab first and were coming back for second. It IS your choice, not the receptionist .x

I felt really ill when I had both together and had every intention of having them separately this year but in the end decided to get it over with before a holiday, very little reaction at all.

I had mine this morning, one in each arm , she said not to have both in one arm so I could say which one caused a reaction , then I forgot to ask which arm was which !
Ok so far , I had paracetamol before I went this am and will take some at bed time

mine are at the end of the month had to wait as had Covid a couple of weeks ago well I believe I had Covid although I was testing negative but had been with someone two days before who tested positive My friend had four in her house very poorly two tested positive, two negative !!! Work that one out

So far never had a reaction from either Flu or Covid injection and always had them together

We had our covid this morning and have slept for 3 hours this afternoon. We had the flu jab a couple of weeks ago at the surgery.

How do you know for certain, Biscuitmuncher, that you have never had Covid?
No-one can be absolutely sure they haven't had Covid, unless they test. My granddaughter was asymptomatic, but tested positive.

I agree I’d never have any of these jabs Far too dangerous They have now been banned in several countries

Could you tell us which countries, and the reasons they gave for banning the jabs?

my flu jag is booked for end of this month. I got a separate letter about the covid one as I have to have that one in an allergy clinic in a hospital. Never had a reaction but have a lot of allergies. But letter says using the same one as last year and they refused me it as I am allergic to one of the active components in it so they wont give me it this year.
I spent the first 3 years of covid working in a hospital and was fortunate to avoid catching it.

I've put mine off for a few weeks now, ironically because I don't feel very well.
I do need to bite the bullet and have it though.

We have a walk in clinic and just until 12 on a saturday; it's really hard for me to get going in the mornings, too.

I've not had any reactions before apart from the really achey arm... but I'm nervous about this time.

I've never had any of them, I don't think they're worth the risk. Never had COVID either and I was out all through the pandemic

I am curious Biscuitmuncher, is your blood type O ?

My DH had both last week, no reaction at all. I had them both today. I'm not expecting any reaction because I never have had a reaction to either vaccine, apart from the usual sore arm. I'll report back if this time is different.
