Covid jab?

Invite from our surgery a couple of weeks ago for both, booked in 25th October, although I’ll be having them separately.

I had the RSV jab on Thursday, felt fine for a couple of days then Sunday developed the head cold from hell, temperature, sore throat, runny nose, ear ache, sneezing... my first cold for years. I don't know if it's coincidental or a side effect from the jab.

Has anyone else had a similar reaction?

Already booked my flu jab to have at Boots . Have to wait until next month to book covid jab . Either at GP or Boots . Had pneumonia one last year not sure if you have it every year or just once . Will have to find out.

Any tests or jabs I can have I have them .

I have a Covid + flu jab booked together for mid October with my GP surgery. Slightly apprehensive as I haven't had the two done together before and have previously had them done as separate jabs at a local pharmy. My GP surgery say it's fine (they would wouldn't they) but I know someone who was very unwell with the combination. I'm dithering about cancelling the appointment but will probably stick with it and hope for the best.

I had both together last year, as did my husband.

We will have both again if offered.

I've always had a jab that's on offer from a hospital or surgery even as a little girl. There was an occasion at primary school once when we all had our jabs before we went out to dance around the maypole - and the air was antiseptic!!! Later in secondary school we had jabs there too and a few of us had a reaction on the skin so the next day we were driven off to hospital to have an xray and another jab - I can't remember what it was all -about possibly TB -but it was great being away from school for an hour or two!!!

I’ll def have it if offered. Did I hear that the covid jab is now for very specific groups and generally 75+? I always have anything that’s offered.

It's just as well that many of the rest of us have had it then, Biscuitmuncher, so as to reduce the severity of any covid infection we get, and lessen the chance of our passing it on to you.

Like the OP I have a few 'off' days post Covid vaccine jab. However, a US study into reactions to vaccines says it is a positive sign if you don't feel too well because it means your antibodies are getting stronger. My family always tell me not to bother but I do because a friend of mine, much younger than me, has Long Covid and the awful experience she has had over the past 2 years keeps me going back to have my jab.

As you say, if you don’t test, you don’t know and if you refuse to test, you don’t know either.
We have neighbours who’ve never had the vaccine but when they were quite ill towards the end of the outbreak, they were adamant it was flu.
It’s like measles. If enough people have the vaccine, it protects those who are unwilling.

All through the Pandemic, Biscuitmuncher kept us informed of her refusal to have the vaccine.
She seems proud of her stance.

If she is not testing, she could be infecting those of us, who are immunicompromised.

I've had all the vaccinations and had Covid twice. Been quite ill both times, but how much worse it might have been without the vaccinations.
My daughter (NHS) has had all the vaccinations, but has had Covid four times. Extremely ill the first time, very ill subsequently. Again, how much worse without the vaccine.
Frankly I get upset with people who are not vaccinated, yet expect NHS staff to treat them. Staff are frequently in close proximity to the patients and pick up Covid from their patients, in spite of wearing masks etc.

I'm too scared to have any vaccine now after 3 covid vaccines. I passed out unconscious on day 3 after each injection. I think I have more chance of dying from passing out crossing the road, falling down stairs, or driving than of dying from covid. All 3 episodes came completely without any symptoms beforehand and the first I knew about it was when I opened my eyes and found I was on the ground. Never ever fainted before or since in my life. So I'm definitely not having any more.

Agree, Marydoll. I recall Bm's posts about the vaccines. It's a pity she doesn't test as then she can confidently backup her claim never to have had it.
Funnily enough I have just tested myself as I was feeling under the weather and meeting friends. Negative, thank goodness.
It is prudent to make decisions about vaccines based on adverse reactions but not on crazy conspiracy theories.

I’ve never had a flu vaccination, I had the first two Covid jabs but no more.

I’m with you there, my daughter is a Dr of Microbiology, she and the majority of her colleagues haven’t had any Covid vaccines.

I am having what they give me. If it wasn't important the NHS would not be paying for them to be given to us.

If you follow the science behind the covid jab you wouldn’t go anywhere near it!

Go on then, Netty63, tell us about the science you mention. Surely you would rather share it than keep it to yourself, and then we can all see what the problem is.
