Scalp psoriasis and bisoprolol medication

I have scalp psoriasis and the only thing that helps me is the steroid based Betnovate lotion. Selsum shampoo used to help a bit but no longer available.

I developed all sorts of psoriasis out of nowhere about 5 years ago, including on my scalp, which was distressing.
GP prescribed diprosalic scalp application, and it really worked .. took a while .. I will try to attach a pic of the "bottle".

I think I have just got this and I think it is from Famotidine that I take for acid indigestion. From last night I have half the dose from 40mg to 20mg, just cutting the tab in half. I am using Germolene cream twice per day, on the hairline, which is helping.

I've suffered from acid indig. for many years and the relief at taking a tablet that stops this is immense. However, the side effects are not good, so I will try to come off after cutting down the dose.

Sometimes the cure is worse than the aliment!

Thank you for asking this question - my husband has been on bisoprolol for years and has developed psoriasis which we can’t seem to clear so any advice would be great.

I also use Selsun shampoo and I found it was still available on Amazon .

I have had scalp psoriasis and used a coal tar solution overnight (washed off well in the morning).
Prescription from GP.

Now, if it starts up anywhere I knock it on the head with Exorex Lotion (no the cream or any other products) which is 5%. It works for me.

Have never had my psoriasis drug-induced. I developed it with my arthritis as a teenager.

Ooh that’s got me 🤔….been taking bisoprolol for nearly twenty years … but have had “mysterious to me” itching scalp- sometimes scabby for a few years now.

Started about November 2019 along with other skin problem that involved clawing at my skin on legs arms and then everywhere.
It was never diagnosed despite a pharmacy consultation and 3 GP appointments.

Thanks to lockdown , by the time my appointment at hospital dermatology department arrived - six months later! it had largely cleared up, that is apart from the scalp itch.

I just don’t wash my hair too often now. Never had dandruff even or scurf as it used to be known.

I always thought that psoriasis was inherited. My dad had it, my mum’s father had it. It was king of inevitable that some of us would get it too.
I use Capasal shampoo but many years ago when my psoriasis was really bad it was recommended that I read a book by Dr John Mansfield. I did, followed the diet and haven’t suffered nearly as badly since.
His specialty was Arthritis and , as has been mentioned already, there is a link between both conditions. Whether this would help in this circumstance I don’t know but the diet is quite strict, you have to be determined! I was and I continue to follow many rules that I learnt.
