Is anybody familiar with Pharmacy for U?

Unfortunately I live in the sticks - the surgery at my doctor’s surgery is the nearest one and my epilepsy drugs are very old fashioned now and not easy to acquire - changing to modern drugs would mean I had to give up driving for six months provided I didn’t have a seizure during that time. Too much of a risk. It often takes the surgery three weeks to obtain supplies.

I have has far more problems when prescribed a new medication, and then find the chemists can't get hold of it.
5 weeks for eye ointment, and all the pharmacies around involved, as they kept forwarding the prescription.

I also use Lloyds Direct too.
They have been totally reliable and I've never had any problems with then either.

I would be very reluctant to have my prescriptions delivered. I would worry about something going astray.

I think if anything wasn't delivered in time the surgery would reissue a paper copy that you could take to a pharmacy. You could then skip a month until you caught up. I always order about a week in advance.

They have a phone app where it is easy to add how many tablets you have left so you are reminded in plenty of time. Completely free and sent Royal Mail 48.
Any one off or emergency prescriptions, just ask the surgery to send them to a local pharmacy or get a paper script.

Yes, I use them, and have found the service really good.
They only usually deliver packages that will fit through your letterbox.

Somehow they have been wiped off my gp notes as my chosen pharmacy, but I fully intend to go back to them.

I definitely am! I’m honestly prepared to pay for the deliveries but I thought £55 per year was a bit excessive.
What do you do if you need an urgent/new prescription? Do you have to wait days for Royal Mail to deliver?

I've used Pharmacy2U for a few years. No problems at all. Put my requests online to my GP and postman delivers it a few days later. Never been charged.

I was contacted by Boots this week who informed me that the delivery charge is now £55 per year. I have four deliveries a year!!

Thank you that is very helpful. I would not mind paying a fiver every 3 months. I have tried to get them in synch but that appears to be impossible, I know I am Scottish but I think a fiver each time is too much.

Pharmacy 2 U is free. I use it, and have no complaints. They have pharmacists you can speak to, and the service is reliable. They are currently trying to make all packaging suitable to go through the letterbox, which will be an improvement.

The only complaint I have is that they send emails reminding me to reorder which are out of synch with my needs. They are easily ignored, though.

We have used Pharmacy2U since 2020 and have had no issues with the deliveries. Delivery is via Royal Mail and it’s free.
