Sweetpeasue perhaps your husband should ask for an MRI scan. If he wakes with it, could it be arthritis in his neck. I've no idea, my knowledge is limited as to causes, but a scan would show any problems. Back to the doctor I think.

Such a long time for care home to be closed HVDY. People must be really missing visitors.
I don't think crochet will be for me. Much too fiddly. And instructions might as well be in a foreign language.

My daughter didn't answer phone, then texted to say sorry, she's gone to bed with a headache. She's alone. GC with dad tonight. It's so hard when your children aren't well and you can't be with them. You worry.

Doodle So sorry to hear about that back- all you need right now! Will anti-inflammatories help? Good your DH is stable. I really hope you feel a little better tomorrow. Don't worry about posting, though of course we care how things are going.x
Nadateturbe I don't think it's arthritis as its not neck pain. I've got him to take soluble aspirin tonight and he said head feels clearer. I can see the changes in him when this head blurriness comes over after the pain. He's slower. I feel so worried. This Giant Cell Arteritis that can come on with the Polymyalgia concerns me. If he's still not right at weekend I'll ring 111.
I looked at crochet stitches and it seems quite difficult to follow a pattern. I've still not finished my last jumper though I did do one.
HVDY I don't like pork either , excepting the odd bacon sandwich which is a rare treat. DH is in process of doing 3rd lot of BP readings. Ramporil has been replaced by another one(he was getting headaches long before that) BP seems to have come down a bit over last couple of days. Why do we worry so much?

Nadateturbe I told GP my concerns about the GCA. He said it affects one side . I googled GCA and it says it affects both sides of temporals . Don't worry I am going to be persistent with DH.

Finished it. The person who devised the picture certainly liked colour! It's not at all neat but not bad for a 1st attempt

SweetPeaSue- what a pity you felt poorly whilst at your Sons- he must have been concerned for you both. I think sometimes our AC need to see that we are not always full of beans. It’s not easy to admit their parents are vulnerable as they get a bit older. Your poor DH - I do tend to think that BP problems can give you nasty headaches sometimes. Years ago after a terrible shock my BP went high and I had terrible headaches.
Glad you,re able to get out today- Coffee and Cake at Costas always cheers you up.

Does your DH enjoy his cooking as much as you enjoy eating it- I think it’s great that he makes such good meals.

Sweetpeasue I have seen a chart of the multi coloured highland cow plus multiple coloured other animals. I have a subscription to The world of cross stitching and the highland cow is in an issue . It was done by Megan Caines who trades under Meloca designs .

I have posted some of my cross stitch on arts and craft forum . Under cross stitch. Some of my works can take 3 months . But I find it relaxing and keeps my mind active and fingers nimble . I needed something absorbing when the stress of looking after my mom got to much. Funny enough it's the only time my hands don't tremble.
I used to knit when the children where young but I couldn't co ordinate both hands together . HPX has taken some things from me but I have found ways to do what I want but my way. We all have to make our world to suit us not the other way round.

HVDY I usually work using 14 ct Aida . Which means it's 14 holes per inch. A friend does hers on evenweave which I can't do. To complex for me.

HVDY Oh I think my DH only remembered her name because son2 had seen a Lion painting he liked in a garden nursery and son wanted him to paint it for him. I wouldn't have known.
I wish my DH could cook roast dinners. There's a funny incident in our family -when I wasn't well DH cooked some oven chips for my school age sons. The look on their faces when they bit into underdone raw chips. He does great toast though.😂 .
WhiffYou have some lovely work on Arts and Crafts. I think you do your own design charts too. I have done a few small cross stitch kits in the past though I've found it's not as easy now to see the canvas. I tried to do one of a lion cub a Yr ago and I went terribly wrong in the counting. I don't know how to rectify the mistake as counting wrong squares in one part puts out of sync all the others. Funny how your hands don't tremble when sewing. It must be good for your co-ordination or something.
Scaredycat I think my son saw DH get up from the chair in his kitchen and hold onto table as his fuzzy head makes his balance 'iffy'. He saw me unwell too so I was a bit worried. I know what you mean about AC not wanting to see parents getting 'older and vulnerable. We shared a toastie and a Rolo choc muffin in Costa. Had a v light tea to try and compensate- don't want to weigh myself just yet.

Hello all. Feeling better tonight, last night I was in agony with my back. Stabbing pains in chest shoulder and arm (but on the right not left). I came to the conclusion today that I must have over stretched by arm when trying to get the ticket out of the ticket machine whilst driving into the hospital car park. It is such a difficult place to reach and I remember feeling a pain when I over stretched.
Sweetpeasue my DH is like yours, good toast but nothing much else. I used to do cross stitch too but gave up when I couldn’t see the holes in the linen any more.
Whiff that multicoloured highland cow was on the Christmas card our son sent us. My friend has also done one in diamond art, it looked amazing. I used to love cross stitch. In the past I did a large picture of a bird table and also a long bell pull hanger of musical instruments. They took me years to do (I’m not joking)
Scaredycat you’re quite right about my back. It was bad last time DH was in hospital. I think it’s a combination of spending all day sitting in the hard chairs and as I said above reaching the ticket machines in the way in and out of the car park. It’s better today though.
I hope you do your photo book, we have several DH has done over the years and it’s such a pleasure to get one out and remember the lovely places we’ve been or pictures of family.
HVdY as you might have guessed I’m working from the last post upwards and have just come across your fantastic picture, it’s amazing, You must be so pleased .

ScaredyCat BabyDoll is enjoying her food! I've bought a few jars to keep here, but when we've got her next Friday, I'll cook something (no salt, obviously) and blend it for her. My brother is going to see his wife tomorrow, as the home will be open then - he last saw her 3 weeks ago (not that she'll be aware of that).
SweetpeaSue My husband had to teach me to cook - I couldn't even do a boiled egg or beans on toast when we got together. His dad couldn't cook. Some men aren't interested.

Hope ALL BDers have been ok today. We've just watched Mr Bates v The Post Office. I looked round and DH was crying at it. It's an astonishing story.

I have such a problem extending my arm out to those tkt machines at hospitals. My arms are quite short and I always dread that bit of the car park. Glad your back is feeling better today.
HVDY I don't think my DH is interested in cooking but there again he's never had to be. We are a bit traditional in our 'roles'. I've always been at home and he's been the hunter--breadwinner----. I don't think I've managed to type that as I wanted.

SweetpeaSue We've been traditional in our roles, too - I did everything indoors - washing, ironing, cooking, cleaning, kids, and he did everything outdoors - garden, cars). Huge organisations do get away with things - NHS being one of them, as we know.

Another setback. DH had attack of breathlessness last night, had 8 doctors and nurses all round him. He’s back being monitored by the cardiac unit now.
So stressed when I couldn’t get him to answer the phone.
HVDY hope your brother gets to see his wife. It’s a long time without a visit. My DH has been very upset by the post office scandal too. A dreadful thing.
Sweetpeasue thank you. We both want him home but these asthma attacks/ breathlessness are worrying. The doctors say his oxygen levels are ok but it’s frightening none the less.
