Fungal toes

Oh dear so embarrassing but toenails becoming discoloured and yellow and know I have a fungal infection. BUT just cannot seem to clear it. I have bought two different bottles of liquid that you paint on your toenails and not cheap at about £18 per bottle but not done any good and coming up to summer and hopefully wearing sandals. Put some little footies (mini tight socks) on the other day to hide the problem.

Been told from the Doctors they do not deal with fungal infections anymore and to buy the paint on liquids which as said I have done but to no avail.

Any idea's anyone? Anybody else sorted this problem out?

I had the same issue a while ago. What helped me was using an amorolfine nail lacquer and just being consistent with it. It took a few months before I noticed a proper improvement, but fungal nails are slow to grow out.

I've been putting Canesten on mine since June last year and the brown part of the nail is almost gone. I put it on every day. Since Canesten is used for a fungal infection it made sense to me, and it seems to have worked. I'll continue to use it for a few more months.

My son had horrendous fungal infection his neurologist gave him Terbinafine it cleared up within three weeks!

I got a fungal nail infection due to chronic athletes foot and a doctor prescribed terbafine. I took it for over 2 years with no noticeable improvement until another doctor told me to stop taking it as I had exceeded the amount that was recommended. I was later recommended Emtrix by a chiropodist and that has cleared it up. You just apply it every night with no need to file the nails.
