Acute spasms in the hip

Seeing your GP is a must as I found out in your position, anti-inflammatories and painkillers were needed to dull the pain while I was waiting for my hip surgery.

Has anyone any advise regarding these very painful spasms that I have been getting in my hip.I have advanced OA and will be seeing my GP as soon as I can for referral .Meanwhile the spasms are getting more debilitating and I am hoping that someone will have some tips for dealing with them as they are so painful and stop me in my track randomly.
