Can we talk about Panic Attacks please? ?

Hope you are OK Fanny. I am struggling with the memory of the shaking hands episode. I now worry about going out in case it happens again.
Daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter took me and son-in-law's mum out for lunch on Mother's Day. It was spoiled as I was in a panic about the shaking. They did a toast and I picked my glass up and started shaking and the drink went everywhere. It's becoming a nightmare.

Kate1949 you are expecting it to happen so it will. Try to mitigate it by asking for a bigger glass to hold your wine? My mum had shaky hands due to the meds she was on towards the end of her life. It used to embarrass her so she solved it that way. Perhaps a possibility for you too?

Thanks for responding FannyC it was good to hear how you’re doing a week on from your OP. Lack of sleep must be awful. It must make you feel like a space cadet and vulnerable to mind games. I do hope you start to feel better soon, one way or another. Panic attacks are truly debilitating. x

Fanny sorry for taking so long to post, very limited in ability atm. I just wanted to say I had a terrible panic attack a few years back, shaking and unable to speak. It suddenly stopped.
After some research on Google, I found breathing into a paper bag helps to stop one developing. But I see Monica has already posted that.
I keep a paper bag in my bedside drawer (beside the chocolate !)
