Evening all x Doodle thanks for finding out about Annie, hope her DGD will soon be on the mend. My DC haven’t come back to the UK visiting so far, but I have enjoyed going over to see them and their families over the past few years.
Scaredycat I can quite believe a bad dream could start an episode of A fib. I’ve woken up with a racing heart after some recurring bad dreams.
Chrissy if it wasn’t for visiting my far away family I wouldn’t worry about travelling long haul, there’s so much to see in Europe. Let’s hope we can start planning again soon.

Believe me there isn’t a snake in the world that could be as scared of me as I would be of it ?
I am my worst enemy. I know looking at my iPad at night makes my tinnitus worse but I can’t seem to put it down

Bluesky I would love to have a holiday too. We just have to keep looking forward. We have ventured into the unknown this year with the virus but are still plodding on.
Hopefully, a vaccine will be available soon which may make things better.

Doodle Thanks for letting us know how Annie is. I was interested to read about the stress related symptoms you’ve had. I get pains in my ears and jaw, wasn’t sure what was causing it. I’m trying to stay relaxed but my worries are bubbling away under the surface.

Chrissy I think worry/stress/tension causes our neck muscles to tighten. I often have pain in my ears like there is a bolt going through my head and my jaw aches. Sometimes I find it difficult to sleep because my face hurts. It all coincides with my tinnitus getting worse and I think it is all stress related. Sometimes mental stress sometimes physical if I have been looking at the iPad too long.
You are doing fine. Don’t forget we are here with you.

Chrissy you made me laugh, your typo yard instead of yarn put all sorts of things racing round my mind! Yarn bombing is when knitters make things and decorate public places. At Christmas a lot of little angels appear with notices suggesting people take one home. If I wasn't currently inundated with knitting requests I would start the trend at my local shops.

Your trip to China is joint top of my bucket list with Machu Pictou followed by several other faraway places. Now all we have is wonderful memories of places we have been.

These physical manifestations of stress sound horrible and as if they would make it worse. I had the jaw pain years ago but, fortunately, no longer.

Doodle glad you have heard from Annie, I understand about taking a break from it all and wish her well.

Scardycat welcome to the slobbers club. Sorry to hear about the nasty dreams and hope they just change to the weird ones I am now having. I was like you until very recently.

Doodle don't know if you are old enough to remember George Cansdale but I was given his zoo book when I was 7 and had nightmares about snakes as a result. Still can't even look at a snake on TV. Spiders don't bother me a bit.

DH and I in our usual morning chat decided we had survived so far through 'house arrest' so we can survive as long as we have to. Just going to take it one day at a time.

Knitting came to a halt last night, just couldn't work out the instructions for one of the stitches so decided to put it to one side and look again today. Very unusual for me to get stuck with knitting.

Why did I look in the diary for this week? Of course there is nothing in it. However, DS and DH have been online shopping so we will have the 'excitement' of speaking to a delivery person a few time this week.

Nonnie Stupid me typing yard instead of yarn, no wonder I was so confused about it. I’ve never seen yarn bombing around here, it sounds really lovely and I’m sure that it gives people a boost. You’re right it is good to have wonderful memories of trips we have taken. Your chat with your DH this morning sounds positive. All we can do is take it one day at a time. Hope the problem with the knitting is sorted. Just read your other post, how lovely to have personal labels to put in your knitting, makes it more special.
Annie It’s great to see you back. You must post about how you’re feeling and let us support you. You are always ready to offer support to others and I know that everyone here will want to do the same for you. I hope that your MT is soon over the virus.

Doodle - thanks for your kind words. I was thinking about my dreams and they are nearly always about loss of one kind or another which of course makes sense.
I hope one day we can all holiday again. I didn,t really realise how important they are to us until we have lost them.
Neck muscles definitely tighten when you are stressed-so sorry you have pain so often. I tend to feel lightheaded when that happens.
Nonnie-thanks for explaining Yarn Bombing. I have seen random little knitted things on railings etc and now I know they are little yarn bombs!!
China and Manchu Pichu would be fantastic places to plan for I do hope you get to go to them one day.
Yes I,m now a fully paid up member of the Slobbers Club. It did me good and I slept much better last night.

Evening all x DH might have back surgery for his sciatica soon, didn’t expect it now as I thought they had cancelled many ops. Anyway they phoned him to go for the pre op check. Something new for me to worry about.
Seems many of you really miss holidays while to be honest I don’t mind being home, I love my house and home comforts. I feel I’ve seen it, done it bought the T shirt.

Bluesky sorry your DH has so much pain from his back. It’s a good thing they are getting round to it now. I’m sure if they are calling him in they are in a position to keep him safe so try not to worry. I like my home too but I still have itchy feet ?

My mini tornado phoned me yesterday evening, last week she
switched her mobile off because friends were ringing her, we agreed we would message, she was very confused and when she did remember to message she asked ‘are you ok ?’, it was very stressful, I couldn’t contact her partner he was ill too, my
grandson couldn’t visit them , so I had to wait until she started to feel better, then I received messages ‘I’m ok ‘.

They are both feeling better but very weak.

I will share this, I had a massive panic this morning, was in bed, 8.15 phone rang , it was my elder granddaughter, the last time I had a call from anyone whilst still in bed was the morning my darling daughter died. My elder granddaughter phoned me and said ‘granny the police are looking for daddy,
i phone my son in law and asked what was wrong, he said
‘Ca jumped in the river’, I asked ‘is she dead’ he said ‘yes’.

There was no one I could call, my younger daughter messaged
and said ‘I am on my way Mum’, she had a five hour drive, my
son in law who isn’t suddenly walked in, knelt by me and sobbed, then had to leave to go to the hospital with my son in
law.

I just sat there, prayed my sisters would come, not even a text,

All this came back this morning, the reason she phoned ?

She had spent yesterday with her partner’s parents, first day
they could take their Labrador puppy and wanted me to see her because I found the breeder and helped pay for the pup.

When her name came up on my mobile my thoughts went to
her sister, my mini tornado, it really was so frightening.

All because of a puppy !

Oh Annie that must have been such an awful day for you. I can’t imagine what it was like and how you got through that day.
No wonder the phone call panicked you this morning.
I hope you have calmed down now.
Positive note though, I think it’s lovely your DGD wants to show you her puppy. Hope you get to see him/her.

Annie How scared you must have been when your phone rang so early this morning. I knew that something awful had happened to your daughter from things you have posted but I didn’t know the details. How awful that your sisters didn’t come to support you back then when you were going through the shock and terror over what had happened which meant that you were left alone.

I totally understand the fright you got this morning when you thought it was news about your MT. Thank goodness this time it was a happier situation.

Thanks Chrissy yes, sorted the knitting, it was one of those silly badly written instructions which become clearer when you go back to them.

I like the think that he offered to make the labels out of the frustration of not being busy and that, in some small way, it helped relieve it. He retired early to give his time to all his voluntary work which has now stopped and all he has to do is look after his mum who has dementia.

Good for you Scardycat the membership requirements for the slobber's club are difficult, you have to learn to be lazy and not feel guilty about it or you are not eligible.

BlueSky that sounds like good news. They have to do the pre-ops within a certain time of the operation or they are out of date. Should be soon. Don't worry, once the NHS actually gets in the hands of the medics it is great. Getting through the admin is the hard part!

Annie so pleased with the better news, you must be relieved. Hope they continue to improve.

Oh Annie those memories. I am beginning to feel there is a line between us, won't go into details but pretty much the same memories came back to me late last night because of a missed phone call from Dil at 2330. no, answers, we have to keep on keeping on. Just a thought, have you spoken to the Compassionate Friends? It took us 2 years to pluck up the courage but I'm glad we did. Only got to one meeting before lockdown but we do have a WhatsApp group and keep in touch on important things. You will find others with similar experiences to yours. I find them supportive although there is no one else who doesn't know the reason for the death of their child.

No idea how today will pan out, nothing planned but I must try to get out of this procrastination. Hard when there is nothing urgent to do but plenty of other things I keep putting off.
