I hate the fact that some posters feel they have to add (light hearted thread) at the end of the OP presumably to avoid confrontation. That shouldn't be necessary.
Whilst I agree with your last paragraph, calling Teetime's OP 'a little outburst' just confirms my opinion.
It's bound to put some people off posting.
