Pradaxa -dabigatran

A GP visit is the only answer. Internal bleeding is a problem with Pradaxa. I went into this years ago as I'm taking the " safest " of the blood thinners which is warfarin---for A/Fib. Been taking it for 13 years with no side/ill effects ( touch wood ) It's the most tried and tested clot-buster and has been on the market for very many years.

If he had not already taken ALL those wise precautions and not had a satisfactory result, I would not be posting the query.

I do know all his medical history and exactly what he takes and why.

I urged him to see his doctor and she agreed with his theory that there could be internal bleeding (1 in 7 people suffer from this when taking Pradaxa) as there are symptoms which indicate this but offered only Warfarin as an alternative. Warfarin can have the same effect in some people, in fact of the two, Pradaxa is judged to be safer.

He is now taking Omeprazole to alleviate GERD.

I could tell you what I think - but I won't. We (and even you) do not know this gentleman's full medical history. The only person to advise is his physician. Any other opinion could well be detrimental.

Also, even if he only thinks he has bleeding he needs to visit his doctor.
