Blood pressure monitor

I have one as I have BP problems and GP recommended it. Not as high tech as the Boots one you mentioned. Just a bit prettier version of what medics use. Works fine for both of us.

Its a good idea as taking bp at home is less stressful. We have one, bought from lloyds for about £15. Think you need the one with the armband rather than one with a finger clip thing.

Yes - the upper arm ones are more reliable than the wrist ones. Ours does the pulse too - which I think most do.

Omron upper arm tend to be the ones that I've seen nurses use in GPs surgeries. I've had one for years. Can't see use for linking to iPad. There's a memory facility on it anyway. Very useful to check at home as BP often raised in surgery situations - mine is anyway.

I have an Omron which is what the Nhs uses, I nicked mine off my son, yes it can be used by anyone and also has a memory feature too. My BP is always a lot higher at the Dr's than at home.

I have an Alvita BP machine. 30 readings memory; diastolic and systolic and pulse readings. Think it was about £25 or so from the pharmacy.

I have one - we use it mainly to monitor OH's pulse when AF threatens.

We recently bought an Omron following husband's by pass surgery, since which he has had sudden drops in BP which require monitoring. It is fairly easy to use and was around £50.

I too have an Omron,I have white coat syndrome,the doctor is happy to accept my readings at my review,and I just check it,mainly when I think of it

I too have white coat syndrome so take my BP readings at home. I just have a cheap monitor bought on Ebay which seems to work well. I think most Chemists sell reliable ones.

We too have an Omron. We have been told that the wrist ones don't work as well and the arm band type is the best. DH has white coat syndrome so we find it very useful. Omron is one we see most used in G P surgeries.

We have an Omron too as both OH and I are on BP meds and easier to take BP readings over several days at home and just give the results to the Dr who is quite happy for us to do it this way, saves the Dr or nurse having to do it. The nurse told me on the quiet that she thought the DIY one in the surgery was not that accurate. Our Omron has an A & B setting so can be used for more than one person. If you are going to buy one would suggest you get something similar so you can both use it.
