Apparently in women heart attacks are generally silent, little pain/discomfort and often mistaken for mild indigestion. Men get the crushing pain, spreading up neck, down arm(s).
I can't recall any pain or discomfort......

You are right that women get little or no pain My friend had to have some tests for her lungs and the consultant said how long ago did you have a heart attack she said I ve never had one he assured her she had she can only remember one occasions when on holiday some years back she felt faint for no known reason
So sorry to hear loopyloo this must be a real shock but I m told hearts nowadays are one of the easier things to right

It must have been an awful shock for you.

I had a heart attack in 2012, but didn't realise. No pain, just a feeling of an elephant standing on my chest. I was on the way to my exercise class, so took myself to the Dr's instead, and ended up in hospital. I had a stent fitted the next day.

What a shock, no wonder you felt scared. Hope you’re able rest at home without too much anxiety. Easrier said than done I know.

How frightening for you - I hope they get you sorted out quickly and on the correct treatment. I was absolutely fine 2 years ago then one morning had a bad headache which went into my jaw and down my neck. Just took some painkillers and sat quietly for an hour until it passed but then started having palpitations for the next few weeks until my husband insisted I went to the doctor. He had me go straight into the nurse who did an ECG and a blood test and I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation - given beta blockers and blood thinners all in the same day. It's very scary how quickly you can go from being fine with no health issues to suddenly realising your body is letting you down Good luck with the MRI

You poor lady, really hope they get you sorted out quickly and back on the road to good health.

loopylou So sorry to hear this but it seems you have had a lucky escape and can now get treatment before things get any worse.

I know how frightening it must be for you because I had sudden atrial fibrillation and went from low blood pressure to raging high blood pressure in no time at all, thanks to my then GP over-dosing me with Thyroxine. My thyroid went from under-active to over-active and he could have killed me.

It's very scary and stressful which doesn't help, of course. Hope your cardiac specialists can sort you out quickly and that you can get the rest you need, and soon get back to normal.
