NNT = Numbers Needed to Treat

Hi All , Just recently I watched a TED Talks (Technical Entertainment and Design) on YouTube. During the course of this talk the male presenter a neuro scientist made reference to the above, it came as a surprise to me, but it is a value placed on drugs and operations. One of the examples quoted revealed the 50 prostate operations produced 1 complete sucess. I have looked at metformin on the net , it is difficult to be accurate for this one. Ask your GP for the NNT of your treatments/drugs as this should be part of your
" informed consent " I thought this info was worth passing on.i am not a medical person, but I like to know about my medical care.
