DD started orthodontic treatment when she was 40 but paid for invisible ones, her teeth are lovely now after a few years treatment, so I would say go for it smile

I certainly know 3 adults currently sporting orthodontic braces. I think they have to wear them for several years. I did feel sorry for them. However, apparently they get used to them. They are not little braces -they're actual 'train tracks'. DD had the invisible ones when she was in her 20s (cost a fortune) but as soon as she stopped wearing them the teeth went back to where they were. Do you remember Pam Ayres poem 'I wish I'd looked after me teef'!

My dentist, also in her 50s, is currently wearing dentures, I think for much the same reason.

Better braces than gum disease and decay arising because of the difficulties of keeping your teeth properly clean and debris free.

Has anybody here had braces late in life? I'm in my mid fifties and starting to find some teeth are crowding in on each other, and then again I'm getting bigger gaps in other places, cleaning is starting to get very fiddly.
I've never ever thought I'd have braces, but just realised this might now be the best option, if I'm to keep efficient cleaning happening.
I'm taking interdental brushes with me when I eat out now, because the gaps trap little bits of food! Not thrilled about this development and hoped others could chime in with experiences?
